    DirectX error 11000002

    I've recently started having issues with DirectX error 11000002. I've never had the issue before but last week or so I had it the first time on my normal system that I haven't changed for a long time. I have not had any new system updates.

    After the first crash, I switched to a new graphics card (from 980ti to 2080ti) and updated my old graphics drivers.

    Afterwards I got the crash around 6 more times, 3 of which were today.

    There were no background applications running other than chrome and discord.

    Discord overlay is not turned on. No other overlays/streaming software/overclocking was turned on. The GPU was not overclocked.

    Note that I am running the game at capped 144Hz with max graphics settings on a 3840x1080 screen size. No gsync or vsync was enabled.

    Whats weird is that my first time I had the crash was on my original system without any software or hardware changes as mentioned above. I've been running for like a year on this system with no issues.

    In addition, in the past week 3 of my raid members have individually had this crash, although most of them use Windows 10. I'm running 8.1. No automatic updates are on for me should nothing software wise was different.

    Thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support forums.

    I apologize in the delay of our response to this issue. If you have not done so already, please try the following:

    - Switch to DirectX 9 mode (select ‘Config’ from the launcher)

    - Perform a clean boot ( Open the task manager and select the 'Start up' Tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC. )

    - Set compatibility mode to Windows 7 (To change compatibility mode, right click on the exe file (Default location: C:\Program Files (x86)\SquareEnix\Final Fantasy XIV - A Realm Reborn\boot\ffxivboot.exe), right click it and select ‘Properties.’ Select the ‘Compatibility’ tab and select Windows 7.)
