It's mostly just enmity reduction, which hasn't been an issue. But the buff Assize is pretty nice.
And I suppose Plenary Indulgence is more useful, since the confessions don't go away before you can get a reason to stack them.

The increase in damage and reduction of cast in Assize for a full-out DPS without buffs and with 2.2 global cast time is 3% of total damage. It may not seem like a lot, but in reality, no skill is really going to come close to Stone IV no matter what. It's always going to be bulk of the damage. Just like for melee/physical ranged classes auto-attack is always a pretty nice chunk of their damage (though not majority).
And it's both AoE (with no drop in damage) and a healing tool as well. So yes, that skill received a significant buff in the grander scope of things. And that does not even take into consideration the increase of mana regeneration. 33% more mana regeneration from Assize over the course of the fight.
It's a temporary measure though. So it should be taken into consideration as such. It won't let White Mages reach Scholars or Astrologians level of damage, sure...but hey. It's both easier to play and is "safer" for the people that don't know the fight too well or aren't too skilled in general. That is its purpose, being the "rookie friendly" job.
They already said there will be multiple jobs in 5.0 not counting the Blue Mage, meaning that we WILL get two jobs. A third is doubtful. We would've gotten three in Stormblood if they intended for that to continue. But Blue Mage is NOT one of the "multiple jobs" they promised for Shadowbringer. In fact, it's not even Shadowbringer limited job. It's A Realm Reborn limited job.

Regarding the changes to the penalty for abandoning duty, I think it just means the penalty now applies only to the first person to abandon a duty after it has begun*, and not subsequent deserter(s).
If I'm not mistaken, currently, if someone else leaves a duty first, and then you decide to leave as well, but a replacement was found and thus returning the party to full status before you leave, you will also get penalized. Now, that won't be the case any more. As soon as someone leaves after the duty began*, you can leave without penalty.
*What determines when a duty begins is another matter. It's probably just when the instance itself begins, but it could also count each separate pull as separate starting points.
I think you're right. While the deserter penalty doesn't apply to people who have joined the duty already in progress, it was said in a thread a while ago that any original member leaving the party after it filled again still got the penalty. If I'm not mistaken, currently, if someone else leaves a duty first, and then you decide to leave as well, but a replacement was found and thus returning the party to full status before you leave, you will also get penalized. I think the 'first' is the key word here, and in that case, this is actually a softening of the blow, since I doubt "after a duty has begun" could mean anything other than the magical walls dropping and the 'duty commence' banner showing. This does mean, however, that people who manage to abandon before that happened would still be unpenalized. But eh.Abandoning a duty first after it has begun.

Oh boy I can't wait to see what new monstrosity will spawn and wipe players as they approach the objective in order to unlock the new Ivalice raid.
The tl;dr for Pagos is: the train is back. Level to 25 in Anemos, find someone to ferry you to both Aetherites and then you are back in business again.
I wanted them to reduce whm recast time like they did to ast, but I'll take the enmity change.
Monk only received a 1-3% increase in damage and the drg treatment, so you get less penalized if you can't do your positionals right, I wish they could have found a better way to dump aggro instead of purification, monk loses 250 potency from doing it and sam only like 10, it's dumb.
I wasn't expecting drk fixes, but I wanted them.
Glamours are "real world modern fashion" trash as always.
Tanks and melee taking 30% less damage and dealing 15% more in frontline are the best changes to me.
Elbst still can't fly.
and yeah, the penalty change when leaving duty is so you don't get penalized if someone joins the moment you're leaving.

Honestly i find the penalties still too tame. Anyone who chooses to leave the instance without a vote abandon having happened and passed should get a penalty. Sure youll get less capable allies now and then, but the trick is to help also them trough and maybe teach them something on the way in good manners. Multiplayer instances are a teamsport after all.
