Having took a break from Pyros to do some WAR leveling over the past three weeks, I was doing some thinking while going through the dungeons about the treasure drops. I remembered that there was a minion drop in Aurum Vale, and some niche, but decent crafting items in ARR dungeons. But that kind of went away in HW dungeons, and I hardly really see anything other than gear in SB dungeons – except for that rare minion/orchestrion roll drop at the end.
Personally, the main reason for re-running HW/SB dungeons is for the exp if needed, the gear if needed, and the rewards. I never felt like hunting anything else down like I did in ARR dungeons. Yet here in Eureka, we can potentially get hundreds of lootboxes, and at least 60% of that are either underwhelming confetti/prisms, or materia.
It may perhaps be too late, but I think that needs to be changed. I think there needs to be more stuff in treasure drops for dungeons, and fewer garbage items in Eureka. Lower the amount of lootboxes if you must in Eureka, but make them worth our time and improve the rewards in those. For dungeons, start throwing in grade I-III materia for ARR, III-V for HW, and V-VI for SB, or something along that. Give us better dyes in the dungeons. Give us stuff that’s actually worth it in the dungeons aside from gear. That’s not to say take away a drop slot for useful items – just add another slot that has a chance to spawn.
I dunno, just a thought I had running through most of the dungeons again – there’s just no value to them outside of gear and exp.
