    Elitist behaviour in dungeons: [venting]

Now, before all you keyboard warriors out there starts angrily mashing keys, hear me out.

Let me start by saying that "being elitist" is by no means a bad thing. It means you care a lot about the game, which I do too. And of course, if you've poured X-amounts of hours into the game to learn everything, you wanna be as efficient as possible, because why not right?

But what I'm talking about is "elitist behaviour", which is completely different. When you join a dungeon, go through it for 30 sec, sees one of the party members not playing 100% efficiently, trashtalk them for a bit (no optimizing suggestions, no questions about their playstyle or anything else) and then leave; now THAT is 100% unequivocally a toxic way to be in general. And I'm, quite frankly, getting tired of seeing it (despite it not happening super-often).

I get it. You wanna go fast, you wanna crack as many dungeons as you can so you can level X class to the current cap (or whatever else you're trying to accomplish). I 100% get it. But if you queue randomly, you run the risk of (dramatic drumroll) encountering someone that doesn't know/want to play the most optimal way.

If you wanna be 100% certain to be able to go as fast as you want/everyone to play as efficiently as possible, queue with your FC. And if you queue randomly and you encounter what I've mentioned above (or something else, who knows), talk about it or suck it up. It's that simple.

Thank you and have an otherwise great day.

    Have a great day!

But I totally agree. It really just boils down to having consideration for your party members.

This isn't really elitism though. Just people being a dick. You're going to come across those types no matter what you do. Just a fact of life, sadly.

I must be lucky. I've been playing since the days of ARR and I can count the number of bad experiences that I've had in-game on one hand.

You main tank by the looks of it.Only one way to teach them.Kick them .If kick doesnt go through just leave. You'll get fast queue and you can let them wait for ages in the instance for another tank or they'll be forced to leave and requeue.Either way they'll lose more time from their attitude than you will.
Maybe they'll learn to be respectful maybe they wont but you'll be happier knowing you're not helping scum like that get tomes.

I can kinda understand it though... I don't see many people who freak out over someone not playing optimally, but I've seen plenty of cases where someone doesn't even know the bare basics of their jobs. Black mages just randomly using fire and blizzard spells without concern for MP levels, archers just spamming straight shot, etc. When I try to offer suggestions on how to play better, I'm at best ignored, or more commonly yelled at. I can easily see how someone would decide there's no point in trying to teach these people, and just make a comment and leave.

Sure it's not the most social thing to do... but neither is players who insist on being carried.

That's probably because you actually know what you are doing. I have never gotten any crap for my playstyle because to me it's common sense to read tooltips, work on a striking dummy for a couple of minutes and go from there. Suffice to say, the amount of terrible and lazy players by far outshines the amount of ToXiC ElITiStS who are so fed up with people wasting their time they just leave. To be honest, I sometimes fully understand and even accept there are people out there who just had enough of this playerbase being so dreadful that they act that way. If we're being really honest here, for any player that plays decently and has job knowledge of pretty much all classes, the dungeon leveling experience is not an uplifting one.
