Is this a bad time to point out that the Atma drop rate was even smaller back when it was relevant?

Vidu I have all battle classes to 70, i do ex trials, check my mounts, i have done relics in the past... i know what a grind is... I know what you mean and i respect your input. Still this stage, the atma stage i feel it is too much.. i guess my opinion here.. but i feel it is too much.. for what is is worth. For my experience SE, just my opinion this is the only relic level 50 i will level, because the fate atma part is just too much... just my two cents, even though if forum community doesnt agree with it..

Not really sure what to tell you, imo the atma crystal stage is one of the easiest atm. Think the drop rate is something around 10% atm, last one i did was a few months back and it only took me a day to get them all. They use to be MUCH worse, something around 2% drop rate... had friends that would farm FATEs for 3-4 hours a night and it took them over 3 months to get all their atma crystals.

Edit: Also if this step is too much for you to handle, then I would say that relic content is not something you'd enjoy at all. The grind gets much harder for many of the steps, the step after you complete the crystals has you buy books for 100 poetics each, complete 3 dungeons with your ilvl 100 relic, kill 30 specific overworld mobs, do 3 specific leves and do 3 specific FATEs. The FATE step imho is the worst one since some of them can have upwards of an hour or more respawn time even if you're actively doing other FATEs to speed it up and you have to do a total of 9 books.

I don't see a reason to keep the ARR relic behind such a long grind. It's vanity at this point, no one will use it for the stats and the boost you'd get for turning it in to start the HW relic is not worth all the effort. Since we're ending 4.x and beginning 5.0 I wouldn't mind if they nerfed the biggest pain point steps again (Atma and Books) since the bigger grind focus should be on the new content anyway. I finished the WHM relic in ARR... still hate Outer La Noscea after I spent a month there trying to get Atma of the Lion pre-nerf... and have no inclination to go back and do others whether or not more nerfs come, but it's been what, three years? Four? Put the soul-crushing major time investment grind in the new stuff and let the old stuff be a moderate time investment.

1. Give Atma a mercy RNG factor (the longer you go without getting the drop, the higher the chance it will drop next time you complete a FATE)
2. Straight-up reduce the # of books required

"It used to be worse" is no reason not to improve things further.

You are talking as if I have never done Relics. Yes I KNOW it was worst before.. how many times do I need to keep bringing up my past that i feel i shouldnt need to. Yes I have done it.. in the past! But it is 2019, we are entering 5.0, im just asking for level 50 relics to be more player friendly. Again i have done over 9hrs+ now and i have 5 atma, i need 12, that means around 20hrs plus, making a total of 30hrs more or less of gameplay doing 1 stage of something that is so so so overpast now. I understand level 60 relic still taking time, but cmon level 50... i think it is time to make it easier... its ridiculous in my opinion to other content...

You really think 10% drop is acceptable for level 50 relic?! again level 50!!! we have level 60 and level 70relics... 10% drop for level 50 level is acceptable at this point!??!

Yes, I was able to farm a whole set of crystals in one 5 hour session.

well this is your experience, gratz on that. RNG is a bit**, im still here, look at what ive said, do you think that is acceptable, prob 30h+ to complete this stage?!? ... if i had done it those terms then yes maybe i would be here gloriously talking on the forum like you are, but my experience is different and that is what im trying to bring up to knowledge...

Atmas? That's your holdup? Been through that stage for two relics now, and I never really spent more than an hour in any one zone, I don't think.

You're a long time player, so I should think you know what you're doing. Maybe it is some obscenely bad luck. But I don't think I've commonly heard that being a huge stumbling point. Personally would agree that it's usually books (although, climbing into my 60s, maybe I wouldn't struggle so much any more, being able to solo most of them now...).

But in any case. It's not really like there's anything you can be doing wrong for that. All I can ask, and, again, assuming you're doing it right, but I'm sure I've made this same mistake before, but what zone(s) have been withholding their atma from you? I swear, last time I did this, I made the dumb mistake of farming in a zone that didn't even have an atma.

I dunno.I took me less than 2 hours to get the atma crystals.Are you sure you had the weapon equipped for every fate.?
Also the fact the relic weapon damage isnt useful is irelevant.The whole idea is its supposed to be a rare looking weapon that not everyone has.The grind doesnt need to be nerfed.It helps keep a bigger variety on players weapon glamors.It would be boring if we all had the same.

Books are definitely the worst part, it's where I'm stuck at currently with my last ARR relic for Warrior!...


I agree that SE should make the process simpler, they could make Atmas have a 50% drop rate and they could also reduce the light required for the final step because it's so hard to find which duty is under bonus...


Overall SE should significantly reduce the difficulty of getting every relic in the game after every expansion, what they've done so far is not enough!...
