Everyone says - it's easy and damage means nothing- I feel have lost what it means to play with other people and are only playing within a small group of people. Since I started this game i've seen mistakes and wtf moments all thur my leveling. When I read about these " I never heal " in dungeons I wonder HOW? Hell even when I tank and again. I don't do small pulls I always come close to dying or someone DOES die. Everytime I ran a 70 dungeon. Hell my last run the other day i nthe burn I ask the healer, big pulls? And we wipe on the first group. They kept saying big pulls but they couldn't heal for shXt. :c So I HAD to slow it down cause they sucked. I see this all the time, and yes I use my CDs. But none of that matters when the healer DIES cause they were over confident. I dunno where you people run your dungeons but that sounds like heaven where noone makes mistakes or dies, but here in the real world... sXit. Half the time I'm the only one left alive and I'm so confused and wondering. " What happened? "

Now most of my runs are pretty smooth, but I'm not going to sit here and act like mistakes and people being people don't happen. Cause they do and mostt of the time it's people who have a million days ingame and just forget that you WILL die if you're stupid.

I had a tank quit last night after the 2nd boss in The Vault because I said, in chat, "hmmm looked like too many stacks of rift."

Dude have seven stacks. He wasn't dodging anything. Me pointing out that he had gotten hit by every single one of the boss's attacks was not a call out, it was an objective observation. But the tank was either so embarrassed over his poor performance, or so miffed at my audacity at mentioning this neutral fact as a mere DPS, that we were short one tank a few seconds later. I choose to believe it was the former, perhaps because of severe lag.

Thankfully a friend was able to come in as an in-progress run for us so we could finish it up.

If someone mentions a reason for a wipe, it's not elitist. It's simply saying "hey this is why we wiped." I didn't even assign any blame - I did not name roles or other players, I didn't couch it in insults. Maybe the tank had no idea that getting hit with the dimension rift attacks put a damage down stack on him.

Let me start by saying that "being elitist" is by no means a bad thing. It means you care a lot about the game, which I do too. And of course, if you've poured X-amounts of hours into the game to learn everything, you wanna be as efficient as possible, because why not right?

But what I'm talking about is "elitist behaviour", which is completely different. When you join a dungeon, go through it for 30 sec, sees one of the party members not playing 100% efficiently, trashtalk them for a bit (no optimizing suggestions, no questions about their playstyle or anything else) and then leave; now THAT is 100% unequivocally a toxic way to be in general. And I'm, quite frankly, getting tired of seeing it (despite it not happening super-often).

I get it. You wanna go fast, you wanna crack as many dungeons as you can so you can level X class to the current cap (or whatever else you're trying to accomplish). I 100% get it. But if you queue randomly, you run the risk of (dramatic drumroll) encountering someone that doesn't know/want to play the most optimal way.

If you wanna be 100% certain to be able to go as fast as you want/everyone to play as efficiently as possible, queue with your FC. And if you queue randomly and you encounter what I've mentioned above (or something else, who knows), talk about it or suck it up. It's that simple.

Thank you and have an otherwise great day.
Git gud. You have a great day too though!

SAMs that never apply their Higanbana.
    RDMs that hard cast Verraise.
    BRDs/MCHs that never Refresh/Tactician.
BRDs that don't play ANY songs.
DRKs that don't use Dark Arts.
... so on and so forth.

These players are running around The Burn now and soon to be The Ghimlyt Dark because of the safe space provided by white knights.

Can't git gud if no one tells you need to git gud.

To be honest, there's always going to be those types of players since this game does a rather poor job on teaching you any of that. I mean sure there are guides out there for all of the above, but it's going to be up to the individual if they want to seek those out or not. I've long accepted that out of all those scenarios you've listed, I'm bound to get at least a few of those on a weekly basis. I've also accepted to just let them be bad at their jobs since helping them, well, trying to help them is me somehow "harassing" them. k.

I would argue the game teaches you fine, but even the finest teacher won't be able to teach someone who flat out doesn't want to learn, there are so many people who don't read tooltips, something I honestly can't fathom. Whenever I get a new skill, I make sure I know what it is and how to use it.
Also some players are just catastrophically stupid, had a RDM who wouldn't AoE in a big pull, their reasoning? 300 potency is better than 100, I told them if its 100 spread among 9 targets, that is 900 potency but he simply could not understand.
If they don't want to learn, they won't, simple as that. I don't try to help anyone who doesn't ask anymore, some people just cannot take any criticism of how they play, even if you are a saint about it.

I don't think the game teaches you fine.. the game is in fact the WORST teacher you can find. EVERYTHING I've learned on war was outside the game. I've learned NOTHING from the game itself but players all want to be sonic the freaking hedgehog. Since everyone wants to go fast, why does the fastest character in video games do so poorly? I watched guides and asked around and read stuff to understand my job, this game.. this game here? pfft. it aint teaching you crap. And I laugh at the thingie they put in the game to -help- players. The devs will do more good if they just put a jepg in the game linking to a Mr.Happy video or whatever. That'll help more then whats in the game ever will.

Last time I had someone criticize my play, I was dps'ing as healer and didn't heal every little hit they took. It was very clear they were not contributing as much damage as I was. Of course, they had to tell me "if you want to dps then don't pick healer", among other things. I could have told them many things that would have humiliated them, but I merely responded by telling them that I had not yet let anyone die, so there was no issue. They kept whining about it over and over. I wasn't gonna argue with them, so let's just say I made sure they had a bad time.

Moral of the story is, elitists aren't necessary elite. Someone who's been around the block enough to know what they're doing is much more likely to accept mediocrity.

Looks like you ran into a jerk. There's doesn't appear to have been any elitism going on here. "Elitist behavior" probably doesn't mean what you think it means. Regardless, it sucks. We've all been there. Just shrug it off and move on. If I spent every single day of my life letting myself get angry over someone being a jerk I'd probably never be happy.

As a person that main's healer I always encourage large pulls BUT at the same time I let the tank do what is comfortable to them. They are playing a tank. Let the Tank...TANK. there's no harm in taking it easy. Trying to speed through a dungeon because you feel a tank is pulling to little so you start adding mobs to their pull is a easy way to get blacklisted by most tanks and even more so just turns new players off to the game. Let the people playing tank get a feel for what they are doing and pull more as they get comfortable with it, ( Tanks I feel for you guys as I have tried my hand at tanking and while i'm decent some of you guys impress the hell out of me )
