Cannot complete VANU Tribal Reunion

This is the quest to increase VANU rep beyond 150. Have failed over a dozen times on this. Generally I put my tank pet on the caster and then kite the two warrior dudes, but if I let the warriors beat on me I am dead in < 10 secs. Have also tried with my caster pet but no luck. I have watched the videos but they are all of a tank or melee type who just steps into the 3 dudes and goes toe-to-toe. As a summoner I cannot do that. Is there some secret I am missing? Also, is this a personal quest or could I get someone from my FC to help me?

Tribe quests usually scales to you level.
Maybe the problem is your ilevel equipment since you're saying that you're dying quickly in this quest.

It is a level 50 quest. I am level 61 and my iLevel is 164. (I bought 3 pieces of 260 gear with tomestones). Should I add more 260 gear or take off some 260 gear?

If you’re level 61, the difficulty is scaled to be a level 61 quest.
Gear can be important for such things.

The enemies are scaling to level 61 so you need to upgrade your gear to something closer to 255.

Another thing you could try is, unlock samurai or red mage and try this quest as a level 50 with lvl 115 equipment.

I don't remember if this quest locks the mobs just for you. I think you friend will be able to kill them without a problem.

...and even if a quest locks the mobs just for the player doing the quest, a friend can still help by healing and tanking - get someone to join you as a high or may level healer and just let them heal-spam you. At the very least it should keep you alive, at best your friend will pull aggro from the mobs of you.

All the healers in the FC online last night were low level so I went and bought more 260 gear with my remaining tomestones. That brought my iLevel up to 201 and then the quest was rather easy - one shot it. Thanks for all your help.
