Amber Encased Vilekin is impossible to obtain

Hi there! As someone who is going back and completing everything that I can it seems that Amber-Encased Vilekin are impossible to obtain from leves in Ishgard if your level exceeds the recommended. Is it possible to make them available from other things rather than gating them arbitrarily or making them a random item from retainer ventures?

I don't think it's impossible, It's mostly just RNG on whether there will be chests that contain it or not during the levequests. The general trick is to accept a levequest, look for the chest, if there is none or it doesn't contain the Vilekin, abandon it and then Retry it until one appears. The Unexpected Tourist Leve is a good one for this but I'm sure a few others are useful as well. This method is quite useful for clearing one of the Anima weapon stages.

Try the level 58 levequest "Dance Magic Dance".

You can accept it in Ishgard, and activate it in the Dravanian Hinterlands. This levequest is perfect because there's a spot on top of a hill where you can stand and see each possible treasure coffer spawn location, so you can quickly initiate > abandon > retry.

The trick stilled worked as of Patch 4.1, because I did two Anima during that patch's content lull. I highly doubt they would have removed it between then and now, so give it a shot.

I recently farmed quite a few Amber Encased Vilekin as a level 70 WAR doing the Ishgard Leves, so I can confirm that it is in fact possible to get them irregardless of your level.

It's just that the chests spawn randomly, so you're not always guaranteed to get one.

I mean, as an indicator of their rarity, I used to do the 20 leves for the challenge log and would find about 1-3 chests on average.

This one is a good tip! Felt like contributing to it so here's some screenshots of the chest's spawn locations which I've found. There might be more alternate spots, so check carefully
