    90001 error in PvP Instances

    I get this error on the average of every 15 to 30 seconds. sometimes I can play for a minute or two before getting disconnected. I know this is a PvP server issue with me because when I log back in, I do not get the "character has not logged out" message, "please try again later" message. I get back in usually quicker than a regular log in. Also this does not happen when I am doing other things in the game on my server. Occasionally I will disconnect but, again, I can tell the difference between server disconnect and one that is caused by my connection.
    I have attempted the trouble shooting steps in the 90002 error that is posted in this section. I still have the problem and it might seem to be worse but I have only attempted PvP once since I performed that troubleshooting.

    Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

    If you get an error saying the character is not logged out, this doesn't diagnose where the connection was dropped unfortunately. However, this doesn't necessarily mean that it's your home network either.

    When did this start happening? Does it only happen while you're in the PvP server?

    It only happens in PvP and has done so since I was able to get into PvP. Now that being said, I just recently bought the 3 disc set of Stormblood and when installing the first disc it said my version of FFXIV was a trial version and needed to be removed. After backing up my settings to the server, I allowed the removal of the trial version. Needless to say that with the 19309.76MB of updates after disc install, it has been a few days since i was able to actually play. The updates finished just after maintenance started and now I am sitting through more updates.
    I will revisit this thread after I have had a chance to see if the issue continues with the "official" install as opposed to the trial version.

    Nothing has changed. I still get the 90001 error message. Seems to happen only when moving from place to place. The amount of time between errors varies greatly, can be ten seconds or as long as a minute or two. Does not happen if I am fortunate enough to engage an opponent. I did get one 90002 error in the mix.

    StormcrowHammerhand thank you for the reply.

    Please try connecting the computer directly into the router as that will give you a more direct connection. Is the game allowed through the firewall? If not please make sure the exceptions on the fire wall have been made. Also if you have done so already, please try the following:


    -Disable background applications/Clean boot (Open the task manager and select the 'Start up' Tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC. )
    -Update Internet Explorer:
    Open the IE browser, open the "Tools", go to "Internet Options" and adjust the following settings:
    - Under the "General" tab, please delete ALL browser history.
    - Under the "Security" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or no higher than "Medium"
    - Under the "Privacy" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or to "Allow All Cookies"
    - Under the "Advanced" tab, please make sure that "Allow software to run or install even if signature is invalid" is CHECKED.
    - Make sure that all SSL and TLS (EXCEPT SSL 3.0) are CHECKED. [SSL 3.0 should be UNCHECKED]
    - Hit "Apply" to save the settings, and then "OK, to close the Internet Options menu.
    - Right-Click on the FFXIV launcher icon and select "Properties"
    - Go to the "Compatibility" tab, and change the compatibility mode to "Windows 7"
    - Hit "Apply", then "OK" to save the changes.
    - Please RESTART your PC now. Once your PC has been restarted, Right-Click the FFXIV launcher icon once more and select "Run as Administrator"

    I have done the steps you provided as part of the 90002 troubleshooting that was outlined in another post. I am unable to hard wire to the router because the router is not in my control. I have AVG and the game is allowed in the exceptions area.

    It is increasingly difficult to get things done with constant disconnects. Now I am doing the SAM fight after opening the class and keep getting disconnected at the last part. It would seem that judging from the numerous threads on this issue, that you have a bug on your hands. Please treat it as such and resolve post haste. Thank you in advance.
