With this being a new year and new seasonal events on the horizon I just wanted to take this time to ask something that has been bugging me for a good while: can you please, please, please stop putting seasonal event items on the cash shop after the event is done? I know this has been happening for a while now, but I finally decided that now, close to the start of a new year, would be a good time to bring this up.

I feel that by putting the items on the cash shop you're removing any reason to actually participate in the events. If I can just pick up the item I want later then why would I bother running a (sometimes lame) event to get it? All it does is cheapen the experience. Might as well just do away with the events entirely and just post the stuff on the shop at that point.

People try to say that it's unfair to those who couldn't do the event, for whatever reason, to miss out. To that I say "tough turkey", that's just how things are. I missed the whole last half of 2014 and all of 2015 and 2016 when my computer crashed and have not once complained about missing any of the events or gear. I will admit that when I first got back into the game I bought the Witches Broom mount for one of my alts, but that was before I knew it was an event item. I didn't learn that until I had read about all the events I had missed out of curiosity.

I don't mind the cash shop, I've bought a few things off of there myself like the SDS Fenrir mount, the Tifa minion and the blue Carbuncle mount, but seasonal items need to remain exclusive to the events otherwise what's the point?

Did you even read the whole post or just the first paragraph before responding? The whole point of having season events is for the exclusive items. If anybody just logging on for the first time has access to those items straight out the gate, then what's the point of even having the events in first place?

The point is so you can obtain it for free if you are subscribed and have an option to buy it if you missed it for whatever reasons. Additionally people also make alts. Sometimes they'd like items for their alts which they missed only because said alt didn't exist at the time of the event.

The problem with that is if you're subscribed then the items aren't free because you're paying a subscription fee. So you create an alt that you didn't have at the time of the event, now you pay extra to get that item for them too. Etc for any extra alts.
