Finally I can play this game like a PvE game.
Because despite everything the devs have done to try to make this game a pleasant multiplayer game, I still more or less detest all the irl-elements breaking into my immersion and enjoyment of the game.
The single biggest distraction is the chat (farmers etc.), the next biggest distraction is the limitation of housing and other "software" cracks-in-the-world that remind me this is a business enterprise.
The economy pressure is also always there, basically any time you spend doing anything else such as roleplaying, playing music for ppl, handing out flowers or whatever there will always be the looming pressure for you to be instead grinding, farming, crafting, making business deals, sightseeing, gaining political power within your FC, etc.
This means quests are rushed, dungeons are farmed again and again until you don't even care whatever their backstory is, you spend lots of time grinding and farming and crafting and giving and in the end it's just you giving away free gil, none of it matters. Your reserves of limited and precious furniture dwindle every expansion and everyone everywhere you give it to just server-transfer or disband their FC in the end. So I give up. I've made enough 'friends within this game to last me for the foreseeable future. I'm more or less done with the social sphere of this game. I just want to play it like a proper FF series experience (which is singleplayer), and focus on the characters, setting, story within the game, see if that is worth it.
I mean seriously, sometimes we play odd hours, sometimes we can't fit regular raids into our schedules anymore, sometimes we just need some quiet time after busy days. The people I really want to contact we have emails and discords and everything already.
P.S. Still wishing to buy my own house. And better story.
