I hope we get more Anima in 5.0

After doing Eureka's weapon grind I honestly have to say I miss the Anima grind. Not because of the grind was harder but because it had more meaning. The Eureka weapon is just that, a weapon. Take away the glimmer and sparks and its just another token for the pile.

But anima is a living sentient being. I'd like to see a new quest-line where you go to greater lengths to make your little aether child stronger.

Same. If they decide to lock the new relic behind a stupid place like Eureka, I'll be skipping it this expansion. I want it to have different steps and ways to make it, like ARR and HW ones.

im sure there are better ways to make a relic quest line other than having us farm the same content AGAIN we farmed to death in arr and hw

Yeah. Pagos was a living hell. I just powered through it and once I got the story and relic done I got out of dodge. I refuse to go back there ever again. And the way Pyros weapons are set up is another slap in the face with how sub stats work. Everything is random the number of sub stats, the type of sub stat, and the sub stat's potency. All of it.... Random.

I'm only doing Eureka now for the story about Baldesion which caught my interest ever since I first heard about it from my wif- er krile. I'm honestly enjoying the story but I tolerate the mechanics of Eureka.

To be fair, the number of sub stats is not always random. Once you get a row of substats added, it's always gonna be there. Just the first couple of tries is random till you get 5 substats. Then it will always be 5 for that particular weapon.

As for Eureka vs anima grind, both have pros and cons. The cons of the Anima grind is that you will have to do the same steps for every weapon from scratch (of course the nerfs help in that) but the pros is that you get to do it on your own time and pace. As for Eureka, you don't have to relevel again to get another relic. That big grindy step is done once you do it once. Pagos was the biggest problem for everyone due to many issues (even the dev team agreed it was bad, since they weren't able to incorporate any feedback into it). In Anemos, It took me 3 days to get my RDM weapon at release day. But on Pagos around 3 weeks and it was torture. As for Pyros it only took 5 days. Furthermore, the more people in the zone that are higher in level, the quicker it is for lots of NMs to spawn and gain EXP. On release days you'd have to settle with NMs that the people in the zone can spawn and fight.

So if you exclude Pagos, it really is less grindy than Anima. I had to suffer Pagos again just to farm light for my DRK weapon (solo farming was the easiest lol). But as soon as I was done from that, I already had enough crystals to get the Pyros weapon as soon as I entered Pyrso. So the only thing I can say is good about Eureka (excluding Pagos), is that once you get one weapon, it's fairly easy to get the rest. You don't have to suffer all steps again even without nerfs.

I had some fun in Anemos but then gave up on the SB relics in Pagos, there's literally nothing they can do to fix that for me outside of just outright deleting that map. Everything in there, right down to the map design is made just to make the players hate them. I hear Pyros is better but I'm not subjecting myself to Pagos just for that. Having to just ignore the relic really pains me since I've done a lot of zetas and the anima weapons, they were something for me to work on alone when there was nothing to do and the lack of that option has severely affected my motivation to play the game. So yeah, pretty safe to say if they're just going to give us another Eureka in 5.0 I might even consider quitting the game.

I prefer Eureka just because the old relic grind system was just redo old content for a relic, which is fine but this is the first real relic weapon I've felt like was actually an accomplishment and the only one I've actually stayed up to date on. I dropped ARR's relic completely during the book phase, I ended up picking it back up in 4.2 and finishing it. I didn't actually feel like tackling the Anima weapon until right before SB because I had nothing left to do. The tomestone weapons worked fine and if you raided then the raid weapons usually took BiS until the end of the expansion. This expansion's relic I'm finding more entertaining because of the randomized substats and an entire piece of side content behind it, plus Eureka's not bad for making money through battle content.

It's difficult to avoid being boring while making a relic, precisely due to the nature of relic itself. It's content for grinding, but how can you be creative for grinding?

Throw your stones at me if you want, but Eureka is the most creative way yet. It's clunky and has its flaws, but it has its storyline, it has gorgeous and original maps, mechanics tweaks, and the recent addition of the logos system is really nice. It's just too bad it locks the relics out of people who don't enjoy this precise content, but the devs tried something new.

I understand that grinding for a relic must be as open as possible, which Zodiac and Anima did with being able to grind dungeons, raids, trials, scripts and all that to build the weapon. But they can't stick to that formula for each expansion.
