I posted about it briefly on the JP side and deleted after but someone was quick enough to pick my post up and post it on 2CH and they are also checking on confirmation on this one and thinking the same as me lol.

They definately said Famitsu. They didn't say magazine however.

But I just assumed they were referring to the magazine because when I went to the famitsu website I didn't see anything about XIV besides the article about music tracks posted yesterday.

i think they'll delay it, but only for story purpose. Would be strange releasing 2.0 without the fallen meteor (and i want to be in 1.x: it would be like a marking stone)

If they do delay it it will be because of the players (look at the server merge situation)...so the only delay could have the blame placed on the players crying over things.

I still find it interesting that people help SE to that timeline so strictly, people do realize that things like that are more guidelines then anything. Things happen, people get sick, workstations crash, all this adds up to delays.

They never said February 17th. The original understanding that we had was "early February." Then Yoshida's last letter stated they had planned to get 1.21 out by "the second week in February." If that means the actual second week, you're looking at the 9th or 10th (consequently this agrees with the original japanese used in the first 2.0 pdf file that talks about patch scheduling). If they meant the second full week of February, then that means the 16th or 17th. Either way don't really know what they were planning at that point. In the past, "early" has meant up to the 14th for SE.

But yeah, your rent analogy is kind of funny lol.
