    Request for percentage based gear

    Title is pretty straight forward.

    Examples. Have a piece of gear, say a body piece that would specify something along the lines of "Attack Magic Damage +7%" or "Weapon Skill Damage +7%" as an example.

    You could even go as far as having a piece of gear say something like "Intelligence +2%." Either way I think it creates a lot of options.

    The whole reason seems kind of obvious. Having "Attack Magic Potency +7" doesn't drastically increase damage on attack magic spells. However, if it were to say "Attack Magic Damage +7%," then we could actually see that 7% boost. This would work toward the efforts of people complaining that gear does nothing.

    So, you couldn't say gear does nothing anymore! You can say it does a percentage more, and the numbers be justified.

    Yea agreed percentages would probably be a better way to convey information in general at least for comparing gear.

    There is nothing to stop having both though, for example percentage next to the stat in brackets.

    Right now it displays the gear stat and the difference in brackets (just change that difference to a percentage)

    HQ used to be % based and look where it got us...


    in the end, % based or +stat based its all the same, one being higher % then another is the exact same as one being higher +stat then another

    They said no to this long time ago already, the developer saw that in FFXI as a huge mistake in decision and even if they do implement it they said they are going to make sure they wont make the same mistake again.

    Yes because 7% is much higher than +7 :P

    Plus I agree haste gear is not a good idea.

    Well, because of how large our stats are right now, even having +20 of a stat on a piece of gear is probably no more than a 2-3% increase in the given stat.

    So this is why there are always complaints about gear doing nothing. The whole idea with percentages is so you know exactly what you're getting.

    We either need this, or for stats to be lowered overall. But judging by the stats we can get on Materia, that's more than likely not going to easily happen any time soon.

    Also, for those that played Final Fantasy XI, we know the difference between something that said "Magic Attack Bonus +7" and "Magic Potency +7%"
