I think leveling is slow. I took me over a year to get gladiator to 50. Most everyone I started to play 14 with quit so I had no choice but to solo since I didn't know anyone to group with.

Its not fast unless you have some sort of set party you play with.

Well, it doesn't take much to create a group....

It also should take more time for soloers.

It is my opinion that Yoshida wants exp to come in incredibly fast. PLing and 10k Natalan pulls are a gift from him (kinda like that gobbue mount). He's giving us as many 50s as we want for 2.0, take it or leave it. These gifts could be rescinded with any patch, just a slight adjustment to link bonus is all it would take to restore the normal leveling curve.

@Zumi - Why oh why, did you not get hooked up with a linkshell. Social is such a big part of this game. Your eyes will literally spew blood if you try and take a craft to 50 without chatting with other people ( I think it's somewhere around the 34-6 range).

I would consider that the opposite of a gift. What if they have some really cool lower level stuff!? but now I have 50s so I can't fully enjoy it. Or the gear will be pointless to get! There is no adventure in just, HEY GIVE ME 50s NOW. And if he wanted to do that, he would have just made a button "HEY GUYS, MADE THIS BUTTON FOR YOU! GIVES YOU ALL DOW/M ALL 50s, BUT YOU WILL STILL HAVE TO GRIND THOSE DOH/L! AGAIN, USE IT IF YOU WANT!"

Yup. Just another reason why I absolutely refuse to PL or accept it, and I even mock my own LS mates when they mention wanting to be PL'd (granted, I do it in a playful manner).

We have all be given a choice. If you chose to PL all your jobs to 50, then yeah, you miss out on all the adventure. It would be your fault though. I'm not sure what you would call the current situation other than a button that gives you all 50 DoW/M.

Yeah, I think we're getting a bit off topic here. PLing, while it is a similar issue, is not the issue being called upon. The issue is that leveling in itself is too fast, PLing or not.

It would be useful if we could get more suggestions about how to change the flow of EXP to the characters and changing them instead of just the idea of making the TNL's higher. That way the devs might see something they like and maybe get inspired to change it. Or at least get a response within a couple days about if they have plans on EXP rates for 2.0.

Insulting people in the counter argument isn't going to change their minds. It will make them stick harder to their opinion regardless of whether or not it's right, and think less of your opinion simply because you insulted them. In essence, if you want to try and change someone's mind, come up with a well thought-out response and don't be a dick.
