Yes, a lot of people were complaining about being forced to skip and missing out.

The reason why you see more negative comment than good on facebook etc .. is because dissatisfied people express themselves more than happy people. It doesn't mean that dissatisfied people represent the majority of the opinion.

The majority of the player were fine with how it was. because again it was not a big deal to skip ONE cutscene in a 300 hours full story. Most of people tend to not cry just for ONE skip.

Stop trying to put fake words and intention in my mouth ... i never use the skip and i never asked anybody to skip and i never see anyone using the skip or asking for it during my roulette.

Again you don't get the point. When 2 kind of people have to coexist you have to find an understanding like we do in a civilized world. For exemple in my country the Highway Code say that when 2 opposed cars can't pass together on a inclined road ... the car that is on the higher part of the road have to stop/clear the road and let the other car to pass first. Why ? Because it's easier to get started when the road tilt down and harder to get started when you have to clim the road + you are wasting gasoline, this avoids forcing him to stop his car.

So the one that suffer the less grant the benefit to the one that suffer the most. Because we are civilized.

I ask you to skip only 1 cutscene in your 300 hours story to save me from having to watch the same cutscene over and over again and waste my time every day ... you suffer less than me, so are you civilized and kind enough to grant me this gift or not ? I'm not "playing a game", I'm stating what I consider to be a fact.

And I think that you're overlooking an important element in saying the argument is just as valid in reverse: your purpose for running the dungeon, and whether there is another way of achieving it.

If you are only there to earn EXP and maybe tomes, there are other ways of doing that. You are not required to play it ever again if you don't want to.

But for a first-time player who wants to experience the climax of the story as the writers (perhaps rather idealistically) intended it to work, there is only one way to do that, and both cutscenes and gameplay are important.

You only have one chance (outside of replaying the entire game from the start) to ever experience the entire ending in order, and that requires watching the cutscenes as you go.

It's not just about the dungeons themselves, but the surrounding experience. Once you reach the end of the Praetorium and exit the dungeon, there is no chance for you to go to an inn and catch up on the story you just missed - you go straight into the ending cutscenes, and then a completely unrepeatable "live gameplay" section where you return to the Waking Sands, and everyone welcomes and congratulates you.

If you've missed out on all the story worked into the mid-dungeon cutscenes, it weakens the significance of the rest of the ending. And in turn, the cutscenes are weakened because they're designed to lead into exciting battles, and instead they dump you back into your inn room and the twinkly default music there.

Additionally, the overall script of the dungeons is not neatly broken into "fights" and "story" - characters are talking throughout their battle scenes in the Praetorium, and you can't revisit that by watching the cutscenes.



Essentially, the intent of the roulette is for players to put their hand up and say "yes, I'm happy to spend my time here to help a new player through the story. I understand that I can't skip the cutscenes and will be compensated for my time."

If you don't want to do that, you have the option to go and run other dungeons or PotD or whatever else you want to do to earn the same EXP without the "torture" of those cutscenes.



Also you keep saying that you're just asking people to skip "one cutscene" - it is of course not one cutscene, it is a whole series of cutscenes. But regardless of whether it's one or many scenes, if it's important then it's still unfair to force someone to skip it.



When I'm new to a dungeon, I want to watch the cutscenes. And when someone else is new, I am happy to wait (and it's fair that I have to wait) while they watch the cutscenes. You get your own full experience, then extend the same courtesy to others when they need it.

And I will say, yet again - if everyone went into the old skippable MSQ roulette with that same mindset, and was willing to wait on the occasions where they "needed to" for a new player, then we would still have the old system where you'd be free to skip cutscenes the rest of the time.

Im currently at i336 and this mission is what give me the most resource right now to get my i360/390 ( it give even more than alliance raid lvl 50 ). But of course it's not the best time effective mission cause it take like 30 min ( the ultima mission one )

One solution could be to remove the reward and increase other roulette reward to compensate so we don't have to farm it again but the drawback will be that new player will have hard time finding a group ... but to fix this we can add some bots allies to the player group for exemple like if it was a coop single-player mission.

Claiming that they weren't is a blatant lie.

There was nothing perfect about it, it was HORRIBLE.
It was worse for first timers who wanted to experience the story than it is for farmers now.
The current state of affairs is actually less terrible than what was there before.

If cutscenes are made skippable, then they have to reduce the rewards back to what they used to be, to reflect the time spent.
If there’s any kind of choice involved, then people will be in conflict.
Those who want to see the cutscenes.
Those who don’t care but want the full rewards.
Those who don’t want to see the cutscenes.
Those who don’t care but want to get through quickly with a lesser reward.

You will have people pressuring others to skip, whether or not it’s anonymous, or you’ll have people DC’ing or dropping out and eating the penalty in order to get the content they want, because there’s too many differing motivations there.
The only solution is to remove the choice form the instance entirely, placing the choice BEFORE you queue for the instance. You choose to enter an instance with cutscenes or without cutscenes, and you’re held to that choice.
This exploit of DC’ing to skip cutscenes represents a choice within the instance, and that’s why it’s a problem that needs to be addressed.

Given that the roulette system exists purely to encourage players to run level synced content to give newbies more players to play with, then it runs at odds with that philosophy to make cutscenes skippable. You’re making the content intended for newbies completely unfriendly for newbies.
If you want to run MSQ without the cutscenes, then it should be you who uses PF or runs it unsynced.
If you want the rewards that have been specifically tailored to a 45 minute long instance, then you eat that time, that’s the price for the high reward.

I personally can straight up say people have been complaining and harassing people about these CS since the 4th week of the game.
I know this because I was harassed in Cestrum on my first run which was in the 4th week of the game official launch.
