They can enter Lv50 raids with a preformed party.

and that's if they are best in slot for BLUE, for all we know the calculation based on armour might be that the level 50 job quest gear is the best for them. (they did mention that damage and values are done differently for blue based on armour)

They use standard caster gear. The difference is that their actions' damage formulas give a higher weight to INT because their scepter doesn't contribute weapon damage to the calculations.
