New Playable Race Idea: Ronso

You mentioned the Burmecians in the original post.... I was very saddened when I learned that Yugiri wasn't this when they were teasing her back in 2.x. I saw her with her covered face and tail and though that perhaps she felt she had to hide her appearance because of the Qiqirin. I personally say the more options the better, so I'm all for ronso if enough other people want it too. I just would like to see them also make the Burmecians as that's something I still feel should have already been in the game.

(Also, the lore for adding them was so perfect at the time considering they were refugees of a destroyed city... just like Burmecia and Cleyra were both destroyed in FFIX)

Yeah, I'd love to see them in FFXIV. There could be an interesting relationship/story relating to the Qiqirn. Still, since players would be able to start the game as a Burmecian, it would be kinda weird that the Qiqirn are considered a beastman race but not the Burmecian WoL (unless they change small specific sentences in the dialogue).

But, thinking better, Burmecians could work (although still complicated). In some artwork, they're pretty much plantigrade, so maybe they could have normal shoes:


As for their snouts, if they gave them shorter snouts like Freya and Fratley have, it could work with helmets and stuff:


Not that I believe we will ever get Burmecians/Cleyrans (those could be the two clans), but, as a FFIX fan, I can dream lol.

Need a race that can come in multiple sizes, weight, and a different themes. Let us choose the skin type texture and color. The textures being stones or earth, the veins magma, ice, dirt, plants, etc. The hair can be grass, vines, elemental hair of fire and such. The option to make it look dark and bad, divine and sexy, or a little cutie!

I guess they could make 3 race sub races. One could be the earthen tribe, the elemental tribe, and the dark tribe.

This size is in the Roegadyn size range or larger.

This size is in the typical midlander or miqote range.

This size is in the Lalafell size range.

I'd love to see a beast race, but all the game's lore and design philosophies make them seem unlikely. Even then, I don't think Ronso would be a playable race. They're a mashup of two races that fill a niche those two already do better. Hell, just slap a horn and a tail on a Hellsguard and you're already halfway there.

I'd be amazed if this is the new race. They appeal to absolutely nobody.

Well, since the Ivalician races have been appearing lately, I wouldn't be surprised to see the Rev appear in 5.0... just not as a playable race lol.

The issue with that would be the fact it would be basically making three different races (since they would have to remodel gear 3 different times). The only way I could see that happening is if they basically take the exact body structures of Miqo'te, Lala and Roe.

As much as I would like to have Ronso, the devs aren't that ambitious.

hmm.. 1 would be hyur midlander, or miqo'te female. 2 would be elezen male. 3 hyur highlander male. 4. Roe male. 5. midlander/miqo'te male. Same race ones would be 1 and 5.

The right arms are really screwed up though on 1 and 5.

Well, keep in mind that Ronso wasn't the leaked race. Blufever, the leaker, only said that the second race was lion-based which made people speculate that it could be Ronso. There is another lion race in Final fantasy 12 called the Rev too. I can't find the specific point in where he mentions to look at his profile, but I hope it is obvious enough due to the fact it has both a lion and bunny on it.

I personally have come to the acceptance stage on the races in this game; however, I can't say I'm not super disappointed. I was so damn salty, pouring the salt, after they said Viera would be the last race. xD

There's also Galka concept art where they had a more lion look to them.

That leaker guy who predicted BLU and Viera said Ronso were supposed to be part of 5.0 along with Viera if I remember correctly. If that still holds true(since literally everything he said has come to pass thus far) i'm wondering if its going to be something like Ronso are males only and Viera are only female.

It's important to note that he never said Ronso.
He said more than once that there would be 2 new races added. Confirmed Viera and strongly hinted at the other being Lion like. Apparently when asked if it was Ronso he said "Close".

So if you want a big cat race that's more animal like with them high heels and such then I think youd be happy with w/e it is even if it's not called Ronso.

Me? Allll I care about is being a bunny so I don't really care that much (if they're tall and shaped well, look good they'd diff make turning my FemRoe into a bunny a harder decision than I would like.)
BUT, I have no reason to doubt him on this after all he got right and I refuse to half explain it with gender locked races to explain why we would get 2 for less work.
Really the fact that we didn't get a new race in SB kinda as well as the lack luster showing of gear this expact makes me think that the modelers and animators have had more than enough time to work on 2 animal feet races personally.

We shall see though.
