Some interesting lore and mechanic reveals for Blue Mage. Looks like Masked Carnival can earn you at least gil, Allied Seals and Tomestones of Poetics, and based on the "Weekly Target" it should be something you can repeat.

I like the fact that each Blue Mage skill seems to have flavor text to explain how it actually works from an aetherological standpoint.

Also, I'm glad we're getting a proper warzone as a dungeon in the Ghimlyt Dark. Ala Mhigo was something, but it didn't really demonstrate the true terror of the Empire's armies with them not being able to break out the big guns in a confined space like that.

Super excited for the patch to drop; BLU is going to be the first thing I go for, and I can't wait to play with it.

I'm going to redact my statement. I agree, they're not robes, but they're certainly closer to robes than the other gear sets aesthetically speaking (at least to me). I suppose I'm just being salty because it's one of those times where I really wish SE would let up on the dumb glamour restrictions. I feel my character would look better in the other sets but I still want to play caster.

It does look kind of lame. I could work with some of the coats, and maybe the lalafell's heaband.

Previous warzone scenarios would have us lead a "small squad of adventurers" while the real fight was ocurring in another place, like the final battle in 2.0. In Ala Mhigo, it was the closest we've been to the main battlefield, but it was still a siege situation. Now it seems we'll really be experiencing an open battlefield, possibly seeing everyone fighting around us and maybe even a few airships flying over us and bombarding us. It would be cool if we could even see in the distance small airships fighting the Yol forces of Doma. Looking forward to it.

And here I was thinking "oh, everyone else got long robes this time and the mages got nice tunics instead!"

(It could always be worse. We could have gotten the weird 'breastplate' bits like on the Auri girl's otherwise-good-looking aiming set. What the heck is with that.

I think the mage outfits are the nicest ones in the set - and a nice colour scheme. Glad we didn't get the orange. Will quite possibly use it as 'travelling' gear for the next MSQ! (I got the mage's tunic from Rabanastre the other week and was thinking of using that, but once I tried it on my character I just feel like it looks like men's clothing - for a fantasy setting, of course. This one looks nicer.)

The Miqo'te girl doesn't seem to be wearing any headgear though. I wonder if it's hidden or just not equipped?

Also the boots and gloves look like they'll be great "utility pieces" for combining with other sets. Especially the ones from the melee and mage costumes.
