You have a link showing the numbers and official poll that was run so I can confirm this to bet true?

Fishing and the original light grind are both still worse than Eureka. So is the quest to get all the Triple Triad cards and max out a racing chocobo. But Eureka is still absolutely terrible.
This is so true. I remember people used to pay in gil, real money or "favors" to get Titan done. It was so funny to hear random stories about how people got their relics.Honestly all the relic quests have been garbage since after +1 relic in 2.0
Every relic quest after has been needless grinding/or repeating past completed content.
The reason why the original relic quest was so good was that they created 2 unique fights soley for the relic quest and it was quite difficult to carry players through it or any of that unsyncing nonsense.
Not to mention players had to also beat Titan hard mode to get the weapon to +1 which was also another trial which was extremly challening at the time and nearly impossible bar to carry people.
All of this made getting the relic completed feel like a real achievment to the players.

Yep back in (some i90 Gear) and i had to use food for hp because my poor Bard would not even survive titan's stomps. It really was fun back then.Honestly all the relic quests have been garbage since after +1 relic in 2.0

Atma was pure hell but Stormblood is the only Relic i will not have had completed.
Having done the first few upgrades i completely lost interest in Eureka, and frankly Relic was introduced far too late in SB.
Should they go back to ARR Relic style? Well i am not certain, all i know is if it Eureka like again in 5.0 i will not even attempt it.

ARR is a different time though. Latency issues, relatively "new" gameplay, people not yet familiar with current raiding standards... That would make anything more difficult, of course.
Now imagine locking the HW relic behind some extreme primals, sa lot of "casual" people would have complained because since HW, the games gives different options for different kind of players, yet relic is always to be completed by anyone. That's the state of the game, it won't go back to be more challenging and rewarding as you guys mention with a bit of nostalgia.
Eureka is possible to beat by everyone. You can pretty much complete a relic to the current highest step in a matter of weeks (days if you grind a lot). It's just that it is condensed in Eureka and not all over the game's content.
I guess they wanted a different path for relic and I'm ok with that, as long as it is fair. There is nothing unfair in Eureka right now. Sure Pagos is slower and harder like some relic steps were, but they did nerf it based on players feedback, although some people had completed their relic anyway before that.
So let's see 5.0's way of doing it, but I hope its not back to Zodiac/Anima nor back to Eureka.

I don´t miss Anima tbh.
It was a really long grind for each step and don´t tell me light grind was better than eureka. Its the same, kill mobs (bosses) over and over till you have enough light.
Another bad effect from Anima was the tome-grind. You needed tomes for almost every step. I need tomes for other jobs, desynthesis, ventures etc., but i had to use them for the Anima, always.
And running old content over and over again isn´t fun. I will run old dungoens from time to time and like it, but doing it every day for those tomes, no thanks.
Eureka is an interessting idea and of course not perfekt. Anemos was good and quite fun with the train; Pagos was .... well very grindy; and Pyros with Logos-actions was pretty fun.
The time investment is different too! Anima did take much longer than Eureka.
I have 3 Animas and 4 Pyros weapons (and all armor) and i honestly prefer Eureka over Anima.

While I can certainly get the nostalgic factor, making things more painful than they have to be usually doesn't create the same memories for new players trying to catch up. This is why I have always supported relic nerfs once the ilv is outdated. Actually, SE takes too damn long to get this done.
Also, it might bring a smile to your face that I just got out of a Titan HM PUG that wiped trice, lol. The other vets in there also seemed to be pleased that the fight was causing difficulty due to all the new players in there. Must be a blue moon outside or something^^

Eureka is ok.
Anemos was bland but fine.
Pagos is awful before mounts but really not so bad after.
Pyros is frankly overrated IMHO, feels like too many conflicting interests.
Either way, I don't really want to do it again though next expansion.

@Mansion, difference being past Relics you need not rely on people and go at your own pace, Eureka that is not the case.
That is i guess what i miss about previous Relics
Veteran player weighing in here. I was sorely disappointed that the relic quest discontinued after the Luxe phase. The 'new relic' being in Eureka and the ending of the Zodiac quest had me completely disinterested in even starting the Eureka quest. I felt like it was a slap in the face to the years of work I put into the 1.0/ARR/HW relic. Please revive this quest and bring it back. It was fun.
