Uhm the vault is nerfed into the ground. It should be doable with ilvl 135. When it came out it was a completly different thing.I dont think the ilvl restriction is the only big issue here as it can bypassed by useing high lvl accessories to offset bad gear.
WHat they need to do is significantly lower the stats on acc and boost the stats on main gear to compensate. It should be easy enough to do as you have 5 acc and 5 main gear.
By doing this it allow them to remove acc as part of the ilvl equation completly or have it set as a seperate ilvl stat to your main gear.
Then you can start talking about setting the ilvl values for the dungeons.
Oh by the way OP if you think that people can get away with running through library and the Vault with those minimum Ilvls you are highly dillusional
It's not like people are already undergeared in both HW and SB Leveling Dungeons as they are already. #thinking [I'll just point to you the In-Progress Mentor Roulette that sent me to the Aery. Group was at last boss, but I noticed the Ninja's health was low as I was making my way there. I examined that Ninja and saw 4 ilevel 90 left side Vintage gear pieces and the ilevel 55 weapon that the ARR relic requires. With what I saw, I'm not surprised the DPS checks failed and I left the dungeon immediately.]I dont think the ilvl restriction is the only big issue here as it can bypassed by useing high lvl accessories to offset bad gear.

The item level requirements I suggested in the opening were basically recommendations for the average person unwilling to break the bank or spend too much time grinding just to get the highest gear possible at a certain level, only for it to be outdated a couple levels later. This also accounts the guaranteed gear drop from completing the end of the leveling dungeon. I'm not asking for higher item levels like most others are, but at the same time hoping that players don't enter post - level 50 dungeons in similar manners as the Ninja I mentioned just now.

Doing Aurum Vale your first time without your artifact armor, is a crime against humanity.
The thing is The Vault has always been easily doable in i130. back then most people i knew pretty much used augmented ironworks all the way to 60 because it was was more than good enough. just the same how people use augmented shire all the way to 70 because it's more than good enough..
and this is funny because if you compare say augmented shire i270 level 60 gear to lets say the NQ i285 level 68 gear you'll find the i270 is nearly always better despite being 15 ilevels lower..
If nq i285 is enough to get players thorugh abania. then hq shire 270 is more than good enough..

The 270 set is nearly always better... in Vitality.
Everything else is surpassed by Gazelleskin gear.
But hey, laziness beats raw stats. There will be people taking Aug Scaevan gear all the way to lvl 80.
Yep. Can't just look at vitality. An fully HQ Gazelleskin dragoon has more defense than a 270 shire gear tank.https://ffxiv.gamerescape.com/wiki/A...ire_Aiming_Set

All the math has been shown in this thread many times over.

Ilvl requirements for leveling dungeons for past 50...
Well, at 50, 130 is the highest gear, and at 60 270. They could make leveling dungeons provide Poetics tomestones, and make quests give them as well so that players can be assumed to have Augmented Ironworks and Shire gear as a baseline.
53 gear is 130, and 63 is 270.
Those are only replaced from gear The Aery and Bardam's Mettle, and you don't even get 1 ilvl from replacing a single piece of gear.
So 130/270 gear should be fine at least all the way up to The Vault and Doma Castle.
So really only in Great Gubal Library and Castrum Abania should see an ilvl requirement above 130 or 270 in the leveling dungeons.
Not this again. It was doable if everyone was competent, which is most of the time not the case. Its absolutly not optimal and respectless torwards everyone in your party that keeps the gear up to date because you waste their time. The thing is The Vault has always been easily doable in i130. back then most people i knew pretty much used augmented ironworks all the way to 60 because it was was more than good enough. just the same how people use augmented shire all the way to 70 because it's more than good enough..

I think they should go about this from both directions.
Put in a basic iLvL requirement that is somewhat reasonable. As another had said, what every the MSQ gives out could be the starting iLvL, and just scale that reasonably up to the end iLvL for each expansion.
The other side though, they could simply not be quite so aggressive with the iLvL syncing, maybe instead of the 2 lvl give it a 4-5 level window. This way experience characters could carry new folks a bit more.
I've never understood why it is okay that some of the leveling dungeons are often more challenging than current tier "experts" . Leveling often have folks new to the game, in completely out of date gear, and there is no real way to carry because they clamp the iLvL syncing so much.
1) Put in a iLvL minimum it is not hard for players to be geared within a few levels of the content.
2) relax the iLvL syncing and raise the iLvL syncing up a few more levels.

There has to be a hard limit as players burn though all content till the endgame and wonder then why they cant enter stuff... some need to be teacher to take actually care of their gear >_>
