Hello all. I just cleared O12S last night! This has been the first savage raid tier I've cleared and I'm incredibly excited to get to the next thing. So, how much of a difficulty spike should I expect getting into Ultimate?

It is pretty big step because you can not overgear it like savage. In savage you can have ilvl 400 gear for ilvl 370 - 380 content. Another thing is in savage you often repeat same mechanics after half way of the match, while in ultimate every phase is totally different phase. You can not practice last phases by repeating first phases like in final omega. Another thing is fight last really long time like 16 - 19min. You need really consistent party so you can actually reach every time there and practice last phases properly. If you wipe every other pull for Nael or Twintannia and get into Bahamut 1 - 2 times in hour you are not gonna go anywhere. Consistency is most demanded requirement for ultimate. I would say step is almost as big, if you jump from normal to savage.
They are a considerable jump - The Weapon's Refrain is the easier of the two, but both will severely test your ability to quickly learn and execute mechanics with tighter positioning, faster reaction times, decision making in addition to your ability to put out 85%+ (wanting to be higher than 90% in most cases) of your job's damage potential for 15-18 minutes of difficult mechanics.
If you do not have one already, getting into a static for these fights is essentially mandatory, as while it could theoretically be possible, PFing anything but the earliest parts of these fights is extremely unrealistic. You will also need to bring a determined mind; as progression on these fights can take weeks to months depending on the overall skill level of your static. As the post above me also highlights, you cannot outgear these fights in any capacity, thus it's a pure test of your skill; with no hopes of gear helping to make up the difference.
I do have a static and I'm generally quite patient. Sounds like having one of the ultimate fights cleared between now and Shadow bringers dropping is very possible.

Put it this way, the healing check for Garuda is roughly on par with Ion Efflux. Admittedly, Ifrit and Titan are somewhat eased in terms of checks but the mechanical demands in general are significantly more daunting than Savage. O12S is a good bench mark for the Primals. Ultima himself is... definitely a step up from everything else. The same can be said with UcoB. Granted, I found Nael far more of a "wall" than any of the Titan.
That all being said, it's more than doable if you're consistently clearing Savage with good numbers. It's more about adapting to very strict mechanical checks and sheer enduring. You're going to spend a LOT of time wiping 7-8-12 minutes into the fight and having to do it all over again. But both fights are an absolute blast to prog despite how daunting they may seem.
Walawa walawa walawa TITAN!! Lol but please do try it, it’s so much fun to prog both well except Nael started giving me PTSD from 2.0 pre nerf nael but do it and get some expiremce under your belt.
