I purchased the expansion download via the Europe Store since I wanted to pay in Aus Dollars. However, my account is situated in NA
Now I don't know if I can go ahead with getting my registration number since maybe I cannot download from the Europe Store to the NA area?(i.e. I am on LAMIA which is in NA)

Since I put in my account name and password, would it not automatically allocate the expansion to my NA account?
Or will they say no, this is the Europe Store and we only sell for Europe people!

I wish it would say so instead of asking what Flag you want i.e. what currency

I don't think it matters, I'm European, but played about 5 years on NA servers before making a character on EU server.

Unlike in WoW, there aren't any separate accounts for different regions, you make an account, and you can then make a character on any data center and any server, whether it's NA, EU or JP.

You need a key that corresponds to your account region. Not the datacenter region you play on.

If your account was registered as an NA account you need an NA key.

Where is the problem? If you like using EU store, just continue to use the EU store, no need to switch.
After all, you can create characters even in NA datacenters and you can purchase items for them in EU store without restrictions.

Here is your issue. If your account is made from the NA region, as in you've selected an Americas address in registration and purchased ARR from the NA store, you'll need NA expansions.

Yep, the server you play on isn't connected to account region. It depends what you have there, check on Mogstation. If you indeed have NA account, you can't use EU codes or currencies.
