Wanna give some constructive criticism? xD
Maybe say your reason for your opinion? I'm genuinely interested in what people have to think about the idea![]()

Lets not make the housing system worse, SE should be fixing it, not taking suggestions to make it worse (cheaper instanced, pricey open world) Everyone should at least get an instanced house. This ward system simply does not work.
Some of this was touched on. Because of the ease of entry that comes with a lotto, you have way more people entering it then spaming a placard. It takes less effort, this means you got an even less of a chance of getting a house. Basically ideas like this is only making the situation worse. We need a real fix, like instanced housing, this open world system SE made does not work. MS2 for example has a nice open world/instance system hybrid, take a look there if you wanna see a working housing system.

Exactly. Why anyone thinks a lotto of any kind regarding housing is a good idea is beyond me. It doesn't do anything but make an already bad system worse. It takes less effort, this means you got an even less of a chance of getting a house. There is something wrong when a system that makes it easier to sign up for a house is a con. That being it's too easy to sign up and there are not enough houses. People want it harder to get in line just because of the house issue @_@
Which I totally understand why people have that sentiment. I just mean that there is clearly something wrong at the core of housing if that's people's concern. Sweet lord Yoshi instance this stuff already XD.

Dunno about other people but I don't want it to be harder to get in line. I want there to be no lines. We should all have equal access to housing. Wishful thinking I know, considering how SE have handled housing so far. Even if SE won't give us proper instanced housing there are better ways to mitigate the placard rng without replacing one form of lottery with another.
More wards, different ward designs that allow any size house to be built on a plot, apartment expansion for more space and proper gardening (why don't we have balconies? ><), allowing fcs to use apartments, adding more tenant slots to private homes, adding tenant slots to apartments...all of these and more would reduce the problems of placard spam. Increasing accessibility to housing is how to combat it. Not by replacing one form of rng with another.
I feel like anyone who wants a large house should be able to get one if they want it.
It annoys the heck out of me to see people hording them with their alt accounts and just leaving them barren.

Yeah there is one in my ward in the Goblet like that, the large near the apartments, overlooking the pool.
2 man FC holds it, neither member over level 60. Just... why? What's the point.
I'm sure it's impossible, but it would be great if cross-world housing wards could be a thing. I always feel a bit bad when more wards are asked for, and I see the hundreds of open plots on my server. I'm sure that players on populous severs would love to buy those open plots, if they could avoid doing a server transfer.

The previous lottery thread i saw was a lottery to get a house in new zones which is what people hated.
being able to see a demo zone and put down your payment for a chance at getting it(or your money back) when it pops up seems totally fine to me.
only complication i see is i think relocation bypasses the demo mechanic which technically isn't any different than now but might feel like kind of a jerk move though i suppose with random demo times if everyone just got their money mailed back no one would even know...
