    They seem to be using a generic box size and probably a flat rate with ups + large markup. From usps they'd possibly fit in a Regional Box A that would probably cost about $10-11 in the US or a medium flat rate that would be around $12.50, less depending on if they can strike a better deal with usps.

    Yeah here in the US I think it only cost me $12 and when I got it the box was just big enough to fit the book. It literally looked like they build the box around it, it was so tight. Surprisingly, however, I got it 4 days after I ordered it even without the speedy delivery option. Was extremely shocked to say the least.
