Decorating FC houses for in game events

Just wondering if many people do this. We try to keep the house decorations matching any in game events for a bit of fun and community.

However, I feel there is a real lack of outdoor themed items. Some of the decorations around the housing areas for Halloween and Christmas are just so fun (fairy lights, glowing pumpkins) it would be really nice to give the FC houses a bit more options for outside as well.

My FC owns a mansion and I decided right away that the little room in the middle of the stairs would be used as a "seasonal display" - I'm now keeping close attention to have it update all the time to either match ongoing events (christmas, valentines day, eastern, halloween) or the current season - while there are events during the summer, I dont feel like decorating for Moonfire and instead just give it a general summer-theme.

For things liek Christmas and Halloween I usually also spread the decoration over the whole house - to an extend. Exchanging wallpaper, adjusting the litle, creating a new playlist... since we're always at 400/400 items and I dont feel like re-doing a whole mansion every 2 months the other changes are smaller - like exchanging the usual food-item for an event-one.
The same goes for the outside - while I'd love to see more seasonal items for outdoors, I'd also had no idea where to put them.

I also struggle with my easter decoration each year! Fingers crossed that we'll get some colourful eggs this year! I need eggs and basket filled with eggs and stuff like that to put on the floor, on tables... and to hide all over the house and make my fellow FC-mates count them!

I do wish there were more outdoor holiday furnishings. But anyway, I've been helping out my FC with holiday stuff at the guild mansion recently. Aside from helping with decorating the main sections of the house itself, I also decided to convert my personal chambers there into a special event room, complete with a lounge and bar as well as a stage area up front. I hosted our first successful Halloween event with a costume contest this year, and actually today I'm hosting a guild Christmas event there. I spent a decent amount of effort making it all nice and festive, with the help of some of the other FC mates. If the event goes well tonight I'm hoping to do more holiday events in the future. I'm not sure I have bravery or the means to do a proper server-wide event though, or if our FC leader would even be receptive of doing that. I'd probably need a bigger room lol.

I use the bottom floor of my FC's house as a pub area and right now it's decorated for Starlight. I do try to theme a room according to the holiday; but sadly some holidays have more decor to work with than others.

I really wish they'd made jack-o'-lanterns craftable by CUL. They don't have any outdoor housing recipes and it would be perfect.

Instead, for some inexplicable reason, we can make consumable ones.

I decorate for the season. So after Thanksgiving, for example, I took down my ginkgo trees and leaf files to put up fir trees and snow as well as my outdoor snowman. Indoors I put up the few Christmas decorations I have as well. Come spring, I'll be storing the snow and fir trees and replace them again with the cherry trees and flower barrels. This year, I also crafted a bunch of candelabras and gargoyle statues to put up in my house for Halloween.

I do kind of wish that they'd create lawns as housing items, though. They could implement it identically to how they do indoor flooring, and let people craft lawns that are snow or have fallen leaves, or little wild flowers. Just stuff to allow a little more customization to your house.

Yes please! And also paving options like a garden path leading to a tiled area. Building a path out of the current two-or-three stepping stones per item takes up a lot of the number of items you can have in the garden, and it would be fantastic to be able to have an all-in-one option.

I wish we could craft various seasonal related house items (indoor and out) so we aren't exclusively relying on events for decorations.

I keep our FC's house main floor season themed all the time. It specifically has a rather simple design with only dyeable furniture for ease of changing it. Even if a specific event has little furniture just dyeing everything and changing wallpaper can do the trick. For All Saints Wake, I remodel the whole main floor completely and try to make it different every year. Also some decor on other floors (we have decoration items that can be easily switched for the event once). For Starlight, the setting is basically the same every year but decorations are on all floors.
And of course outside changes with the seasons and events.
