    Ideas for new raids

Final Fantasy XIV has made a lot of references to previous Final Fantasies in its raids, with Crystal Tower being a giant love letter to FFIII. And now we have the Ivalice raids paying homage to Final Fantasy Tactics and XII. Would you like to see new raids as homages to previous Final Fantasies or would you prefer something exploring FFXIV lore like the raids about Mhach and Diabolos?

I think a 24 man raid themed around FFX would work really well. The first area could be Macalania (starting in Macalania Woods, passing through Macalania Lake and finishing in the Macalania Temple, where we could fight Anima or a transformed Seymour). The second area could be Zanarkand Ruins, at the end of which you would fight Yunalesca. The final area could be Sin itself, the raid starting with a battle on top of an airship against Sin, like with Deathgaze Hollow (and like in FFX), and then you would go inside him and fight Braska's Final Aeon in the end.

What would you like to see in a future raid?

As far as it remains an original story, I'm ok with either heavily relying on a FF game, or creating a new storyline with bosses and references from FF games (Ozma, Calofisteri).
I'm having troubles following the current Ivalice raid, because as far as I enjoy the raids for themselves, the story around it did not catch me at all. And the wine and red chocobo bits did not help at all haha.

There seems to be a link however, with the Mhach thing about air pirates, sky areas, nodding to Heavenwsard big themes, and Ivalice / Dalmasca's fall to the empire echoing Ala Mhigo / Doma. So I think I could build more speculations if we knew more about the 5.0 focus.

But as a personal favourite, I'd love something along the lines of Ultimecia Castle, with "puzzles" and some FF8 boss fights... but maybe it's more fitting for an eight-man raid.

As much as I like seeing old content from past games. I would really appreciate it if SE didn't go the nostalgic - Tournament of power - style raid again like they did with Omega. I kind of feel the same way about the Ivalice raid. I liked Mhach, Void Ark, Crystal Tower and Binding Coil because although they did use characters from the old games, they tied them into the FFXIV lore opposed to literally just bringing Kefka and Phantom Train from FFVI. Even though Ivalice is supposed to be canon in FFXIV, it still doesn't feel like it belongs in FFXIV...to me at least.

With that said, with the next expansion going into Garlemald I'm expecting to see a lot of references from FFX, FFVII and FFVIII since they all have this theme of machinery and more of a modern setting. I'd love to see a Mako Reactor bombing raid where we have to infiltrate Garlemald with a group of Rebels called the SeeD and destroy the reactors housing the horrors created in Garlean laboratories. Or something silmilar to FFVIII where Galbadia raided Balamb.

Yeah, I wouldn't want them to just make it bland fan service, but in my opinion the fan service in FFXIV has been good so far in regards with how it fits into the lore. With the Omega raids I would agree that they used the "Omega can recreate any being imaginary or real" to just drop FF villains in front of us, but personally, I like the way Ivalice lore was brought to FFXIV (although the story itself, even having played Tactics, is lacking something for me), especially with the Vieras coming. In the same way, FFIII was integrated perfectly into FFXIV with the Crystal Tower raids.

But yeah, I also think that, going to Garlemald, there'll be much more opportunities to add some FFVII and FFVIII elements to the game, and, if not in main scenario, it could make an interesting raid.

I'm a bit torn. On the one hand I do enjoy fighting nostalgic bosses. On the other, I feel that SB overdid it a bit by having both the 8 man and 24 man raids be throwbacks. The Omega Raid was especially bad since it didn't try to incorporate the bosses into XIV lore beyond saying "Oh they're from stories/other worlds.".

I would love to see content from VIII incorporated into XIV (Griever boss fight please!) but I hope SE makes the elements part of XIV's story like they did with the Crystal Tower.

I've been hoping for a Griever fight for the LONGEST! I think that and an Eden battle would be epic as well. I wouldn't be surprised if Omega Weapon showed up too.

Had the idea before stormblood even was announced to have The Tower of Zot, Requiem Tower and a unique ffxiv tower be center of the 8 man raid where during the 1st tower (Zot) would have you face off against a entire garlean legion at the doorstep, a garlean legatus as you climb the tower, Medusa which switches forms between ff3 version and ffxiv version and there were mirriors present as to keep the chimerical beast distracted , and Barbarricia summoned by a garlean scientist using the Ruby magus stone at the top. Also get a small scene with an faded image of Mandy with a smile.
Having tasted the power of the 1st stone they try to go after the turquoise magus stone next within Requiem Tower here you face off against twin guards Paragon and Virtue, afterwards teleport upwards to face Terror a artifical dragon bounded by chains, leaving Terror behind you proceed up some stairs to face a new allagan weapon the Ultima Blade which switches its form based on opponent's skill and waiting at top is a scientist freshly transformed by the turquoise magus stone into a monster (Seymour Omnis's Form - this is due to the higher magical energy within the turquoise stone).
Last Tower hadn't developed it enough but the ending was going be against the Magus Sisters with a ffxiv look above a major city or town and if fail the dps check see a scene of the place being destroyed.

TLDR: Magus sisters can have a three tiered structure very easily in ffxiv and i really want them just with a unique ffxiv design
