If the GMs were as incompetent as they say they are then there would probably be a lot of people banned who post frequently in Tales From the Duty Finder. I myself included. Something tells me these bans are more than just losing temper and chewing a party member out.

So Hope_For_Change, keep fighting the good fight and I hope everything turns out well for you.
SE is the one that makes the rules. If its against the rules to be rude or toxic and you still do it, its your own fault and not SEs. We could discuss if some rules are a bit harsh and maybe if some of the punishment for minor things should be taken away after a certain time of being well behaved but everything else makes sense. This is a online game which means that a huge amount of different people play it. You will always have those in it that are just jerks. And those will be punished with that so that other people can play mostly in peace. Of course you will always have those horrible ones that still manage to play the game and you might have the few cases of people that are well mannered ones but just lost their cool in an argument..but for that you have warnings and short bans. If you got your account completely banned you are either doing something again and again (which seems to be the OPs case) or you have done something really bad like pure cheating on the game.

People have a hard time believing the full story of the OP because its only one sided and because for most of the time the GMS do judge fair and dont just hand out bans like that so often. So it does create the feeling that maybe the behavior is worse than its written. Also just because they see it as unfair does not mean that others have to see it that way too and wanting to change rules just because they cant controll their emotions is just bad imo.

Mental illness should not be used to push SE into a certain position. Its on each of us to judge if we can savely play a multiplayer game within the rules of the game. And if someone cant then either they have to stop or change. Of course changing is not easy but why should SE do something? Where would it stop? How bad would this be for the community if rude people are not fearing perma bans anymore?

And I am sorry but 216 hours of ban sounds like something way more than minor. And if you did some huge rule breaking then its your own fault.

Forum mods are way harsher than the GMs in-game. We’re talking about in-game infractions here. If Haruka were under a 216-hour forum ban right now, they wouldn’t be able to post unless this is an alt account. And the OP’s posts are talking about in-game infractions, not forum ones.

As I said was not sure if forum mods are harsher then in game GM's and I was also not sure if they were different teams with different teams. So forgive me for thinking a company with strict forum policy would have such a lackadaisical approach regarding ingame issues outside of RMT and Bots since it has been stated that those issues are handled by a different team. Nor do I think I ever implied that they were not talking about in game bans. I just lumped the two together because I was unaware they were handled by different teams. I know the punishments are not shared but I thought they were still handled by same overall team.

As far as I know, the forum moderators are separate from in-game GMs. The in-game GMs post here on occasion, but usually in the feedback threads (and it tends to be the same GM - I believe Rhinedynast is the one who thanks posters for their feedback all the time; though I'm sure others do if they see it).

Let me guess, you still think you didn't do anything to deserve it right?

They might have additional GMs who concentrate on one or the other but from Lead GM's post we know that GMs moderate the forums as well as in-game GM work.

But I do think they have the same hour escalating type of ban for both the forums and the game. I've never received an infraction in the game but I've received two actions on the forums. One was for a housing plot sale forum thread in very early 2015 and when I made a post (since at the time I really didn't know better ways to address it) addressing the 2016 Las Vegas Art Contest winners since I saw one was submitted by someone who commissioned an artist (aka not their own work)... which meant I ended up doing the name and shame so I got the escalated suspension.

That makes sense, if the in game GM's were as strict with the rules as the forum moderators a lot of players would have gotten infractions by now for trivial things.

I made a forum account to present some ideas I had for this game, but after everything I've seen and read in this thread, I don't think I wanna be a part this environment. Dragorath, thank you for sharing your experiences with us and shedding some light on their BS moderation practices. Hope_For_Change, I'm truly sorry for what you're going through. I myself am on a 216 hour ban, my first ban, the very severe one, and am dreading the permaban hammer. But after reading Dragorath's post, I'm suddenly not all to worried about it anymore. And even if I don't get banned, I'll have to permanently hide the chat window. People say some provoking stuff, and some people find even breathing to be offensive.

So Hope_For_Change, keep fighting the good fight and I hope everything turns out well for you.
Yes, because it's a crime to be held accountable for your actions apparently. /sarcasm

If you're on a 216 hour ban, pretty sure you're the problem and not the other way around. You're lamenting and insinuating that others should be ashamed of ourselves. Well, we aren't the ones with a 216 hour ban, now are we? Perhaps some self-reflection is in order for yourself, and maybe drop the condescending, holier than thou attitude too since you're on the naughty list this year.

Shame on you for preaching to others what you're already a hypocrite of.

For other reasons outside of this post i think the player report system needs a fix and to be more easy to report bots in game
