I might have to try that starting a group thing...I usually try to avoid anything that involves leading anything haha. But if it works, it works.Despite being in the same boat as you (I started Pagos about 2 weeks after Pyros was released), my experience has been quite different. Pagos was a fairly smooth ride aside from the grind itself. Finding groups can be tough sometimes, so if you are having trouble finding a group it's easier to just form your own. I seem to be doing that less and less lately though as it seems like more people are funneling into Pyros. So no, you didn't miss out. It's meant to be group content I think despite what was initially said about Eureka. It's definitely not solo friendly for the most part.
It's rough getting around below level 50 though. I was eating the floor more times than I'd care to admit trying to get to NMs, let alone the deaths that happened during the encounters. I was never kicked from a group myself even at lvl 38 which was when I entered Pyros so I'm not entirely sure why people are kicking you. If you don't make it to an NM, you don't make it. People generally don't care one way or another, but sometimes you may be offered a ride. Missing an NM or 2 happens...thankfully less and less as your level increases.
