Transferring Personal House to Alt

Hey, I didn't see this posted, and in light of the new data center shinanigens, I'd like to make a request into the aether and hope a dev sees this.

Please please please allow us to transfer ownership of a personal house to an Alt. Not just share, but straight transfer.

With the data center split coming I'm going to be forced to choose between keeping my personal house or dumping my raid group. I understand they had to make the decision to split for stability, and I can comprimise and keep an alt in my old FC, but being told to pick between my group and my house, when housing is such a limited commodity is kinda lousy.

This is an easy solution. Find a way to transfer houses between a main and an alt and I get the best of both worlds.

Shouldn't have to transfer the house. All alts should have access to the house and should as such have ownership and be able to reset the demo timer. This would be a good time for them to actually implement what they said they would be doing with alts being able to share a mains house.

I don't think you understood the OP's problem... They will have to server transfer when the data centers split. They want their alt to be able to own the house after their main transfers off. For that to happen, they would need to be able to transfer ownership from their main to their alt before transferring away. Being on a super high pop server like Balmung, it is highly unlikely that their alt could buy the house after the random timer ends, and there probably won't be other houses open to buy there either. It is one of the worst places to try to buy a house in this game.

To OP, you might be better off gearing up your alt and transferring that to stay with your raid group. I know this isn't an easy choice for many people, and I hope you the best in whatever ends up happening!

I think LaylaTsarra's post is just a hope for how the system will be once SE implements some kind of system to share a house with your alts. They have said they're working on it, but no one knows yet what it will look like or whether it'll be out before the data center split happens. I'm also hoping it'll be a shared ownership, and that OP can transfer their main but still have the alt keep the house exactly as it is, but we don't know enough to say that for sure.

There should be no difference with account rights to that house given all the alts are you. Transferring one to another server shouldn't make anything different.

At least that's the way it should be in my opinion and this server reshuffle should be a starting point for that availability because of issues the OP has outlined.

The house still has to be owned by one specific character even if every character on your account would have the same type of ownership rights. If the "owner" is leaving the server, then the house would get demo'd unless ownership was transferred to an alt first.

I would imagine the system would be modeled somewhat like FCs when SE is ready to implement it. A FC house is not "owned" by a character, it's owned by the FC. The same could be done for personal account wide ownership.

The player selects a character to be the primary character on that world (akin to the FC leader). That player is the nominal owner. If they wish to transfer that character, then they need to make a different character their primary character just as a new FC leader must be chosen. If the player only has the one character on the world, then they would need to relinquish all property on that world before transferring just as we do now.
