Considering the guaranteed rise in fantasia sales, if I was SE I would be all over this request. This is something they could easily do. A combat preview that has your character auto attacking and using limited weaponskills on a dummy that allows you listen to how they sound in battle. They could also have an option for your character to play dead so you can listen to this as well.

Because I played healer for such a long time before trying anything else, I had no idea how my character even sounded when in engaged in melee combat since healers don't have any melee skills. I got lucky here. But as BRD flinging arrows, if I could have previewed this, I very likely would have chosen another voice.

and do so for multiple classes/weapons, since, as you brought up, it can vary between them. My lala alt started out as a thaumaturge, and sounded fine on that. It wasn't until later, when I unlocked archer, that I had to put up with those awful squeals each time she shot an arrow.

This also makes it hard to create an alt just to try out various voices, as a workaround for not having it in the character creator. You can't really hear a lot of it until you unlock all the various classes at the very least (let alone if you want to know what you're going to sound like on one of the expansion jobs).
