Scaevan Grimoire with tomestone goodness

So I've had this for a bit now, and it looks really keen. I'm wondering about it's design.
It's a grimoire held in a cover like device that has an Allag tomestone-like item embedded in it. As well as icons that look to indicate Stone and Fire. There is also a disc that spins around it's axis that is embossed with gear-like features.
I guess my question is: What's this all about?

I've been operating under the assumption that the gear was designed to look vaguely like the LV50 Ironworks set, but as if Nero had innovated and redesigned and overdone it in every conceivably way; and this assumption has yet to fail me.

Lol, makes perfect sense. Nero competing with Cid. I like that I can actually see my pants now, as opposed to the last few iterations of caster gear.

The Allagan Tomestones in the cover of the Grimoire are Tomestones of Poetics, Creation and Mendacity.

In my opinion, I like how the Scaven gear looks better overall compared to the Ironworks gear. It certainly dyes better.

Imagines Nero making notes on how adventurers care more about gear form then function. Jessie of course is thrilled that the only place Rowena can go to to make all this armor/weapons is the Ironworks... at least someone, even if it wasn't Cid, made sure the Ironworks would profit off the Omega incident somehow.

I also now have the headcanon of the WoL getting the Scaven gear and then hanging around Kugane's Ijin Disctrict in the vicinity of the Garlean Consulate. Rowena is thrilled with the endorsement/free advertising. The Frumentari in the Consulate are more then a bit concerned with the implications of the Warrior of Light having Garlean-style armor and weapons that are named after a former Tribunus...

IMO, seems to me it is an ironworks inspired gearset. I'm not opposed to other opinions, but most likely is ironworks related.

Of course it's all OTT and covered in tomestones and flashy junk ... It's Nero！ Honestly, if his gear wasn't totally bombastic, I'd be kinda worried about him. But in this case, it looks like he sat down and gave it some thought. Maybe asked himself: "What would I want to wear if I became an adventurer?", then used the money he'd been saving (for a new henshin belt) to purchase several reams of glow-in-the-dark tubing. It was all downhill from there, but in the best way possible.

Personally I like his style a little more than the Ironworks stuff; the Striking set is perfection and I'd love to see him actually wearing that in a future installment. But hey, there's no accounting for taste...

Eagle eyes will also notice a tiny Garlond Ironworks logo nestled beside the tomestones in the grimoires.

If you look closely at all the Scaven chest peices, you'll notice they they all have a small orange square somewhere on them. It's probably supposed to be the Ironworks logo, only scaled so small you can't make out the details.

Nero got his hands on our things and made them Nero. Even if we keep glamouring over the stuff to keep our weird fetish for swimsuits and maid outfits in battle, it's on our bodies and protecting us better than the lvl 50 Ironworks gear AND it's the highest ilvl...his ego's having a field day, I'm sure.

Of course Jesse definitely made sure the Garlond Ironworks branding made it into the design.

I can just about picture Nero designing the gear thinking "Yeah, yeah, I'll put your bloody logo in there somewhere (I never said where or how big, though)"
