    Unable to complete version check

Upon starting up the launcher (mac version) on my computer, it immediately cancels out, giving me the error "Unable to complete version check. [30605] [20446] [403]."

In addition, the first time I attempted to start the game today, there was a second pop-up window stating that this game was "incompatible with my computer." I have not made any software updates to either the game, or my computer, since I last played.

Thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums,

We apologize for any inconvenience that has occurred when playing FFXIV. The unable to complete version check error means that there is an issue with the connection. Please provide the following information:

    -Wired or WIFI connection
-Other programs being used when running FFXIV
    -When disconnect occurs/How often
-Everything you have tried to resolve the issue

    Hope you see you online!

    -Wifi connection
    -No other programs being used
    -On startup
-Changing firewalls and IP around has gotten me online once or twice, but the "this software is not optimized for your Mac" error still crashes the launcher when it appears.

Good morning and thank you for the reply whyami,

I apologize for the delay in my response. You mentioned that the issue occurs on start up. By start up, do you mean when you access the game launcher or when you click the " Play" button? Also instead of wifi, please try connecting directly to the router? Have you had issues with accessing the game before?

Please check to see if the following ports are opened. You can contact your ISP and request they open them for you:
    ▼TCP
    54992 through 54994,
    55006 through 55007,
    55021 through 55040

Lastly, can you provide the system specs for Mac? This can be done by the following:

    - Access the Apple Menu
    - Click " About this mac"
    - Then access the support tab
    -Click System Specifications

Please copy and paste the URL here.

    Hope to see you online!

    To answer in order:

-The error message popped up when I accessed the game launcher. I haven't seen it in a bit, but when I do, it crashes the launcher. There seems to be no consistency as to when it shows up.

-Those ports are open, yes. I have no issues logging on when the "This application is incompatible with your computer" error message doesn't show up.

-I have had occasional issues before, but this is the first time this notification has shown for me.

-As the error message has appeared on both my desktop and laptop, I will be posting both system specifications:

    Desktop: https://support.apple.com/kb/SP759?locale=en_US

    Laptop: https://support.apple.com/kb/SP756?l...ewlocale=en_US

Finally, since the error message is related to the specifications of the game itself, I would like to note that I've been talking with others in General Discussion about the reason the "incompatible with your computer" message came up, and it was suggested I bring this up in here.

    Thank you for responding!

Thank you for the reply whyami.

You mentioned changing your firewall, but do you have an anti-virus program on your Mac? Have you changed any of the settings for that?

As for the "This application is incompatible with your computer" error, have you tried reinstalling the game? It may be that the install files were corrupted somehow.

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!

    No, no anti-viruses running.

I'll try reinstalling and will post again the next time the error shows up.
