    I've outleveled my quest

    Hi guys, newbie here
So I've outleveled my quest (I'm 50 and at Limsa Lominsa titan in the main quest, which is LV30ish).
What should i do? Is this mean when I gonna hit max level before finishing the main quest line? And then have to do it without getting exp?

The quest will still give you exp but it'll be paltry and not move your bar much at all until you start getting into more level-appropriate quests, at least in terms of MSQ. You probably will keep outleveling it til well into your 50's and possibly 60's by the rate you're going, but I don't remember if the "filler" MSQs between expacs give much exp at all.

If you're worried about "wasted" exp you can always level another job up to go along with the MSQ until you reach the lv50 portions to resume on your main.

It really depends. If you're just doing MSQ then you'll probably catch up sometime in HW content. If it's a huge problem that you're so overleveled, you could always bring along an on-level class to get the xp (esp. since you can accept on one class and switch to another to do the content). There's also going to be a huge # of quests between the end of "base" ARR (Praetorium-ish, to avoid spoilers) and the beginning of HW that will only give 5k xp each no matter what, even "on level" at 50. So you won't be doing much levelling at that point and can plan accordingly. Also I believe the pre-50 quests give pittance xp if you're over 50? It's been a while, though, so I don't remember if that's the case or not.

Took too long to write, is just a repeat of what was said earlier, pretty much.

If you have the road to 60 buff you are going to be above level often until it peters out after level 60. I suggest when/if you have the road to 60 buff, don't do any of the sidequest just do the main story and occasional fate. By the way once you hit level 60 on one job you lose that buff. So if you wanna level other jobs on that character do it before one of your jobs hits level 60.

This is your best choice with any quest you run into that are below your level.

I recently made a new character on EU data centre, so I can say from experience that if you keep doing your MSQ on your main class you should be at around level 51-52 once you reach Heavensward, and I recall quests catching up to you at around 53-54, at which point you'll have to start doing other stuff like side quests and dungeons to be able to proceed though main story.

In other words: if you are in a hurry to reach max level and get through the story, stick to one class. Furthermore, if you have one class leveled up to 70, any class you level up afterwards will receive an experience bonus of 100% until level 50 or 60, and then gets lowered to 50% until you reach max level.

You don't lose the buff forever just for that job (since its not below 60 anymore).
As long as you play on a preferred world you get the buff for any job below 60, so don't worry you aren't forced to level everything else to 59 before you hit 60.

There's also the Armory Bonus that Jollyy5 mentioned.
You will get bonus exp for jobs you want to level that are not your highest level job.
+100% XP for level 1-59 and +50% from 60 onwards.

Yup just go talk to guildmaster Npc to become x job/class and you will see the buff reapply. It only comes off once you hit 60 or change to a job that is already over 60. So make use while you can

At this point you have a few options.
    • Buy the story skip potion (I personally wouldn't because the story is largely awesome but some people hate all the stupid post-ARR filler quests.) The ARR story skip will unlock everything up to HW content which starts at level 50, so you'll be good to go.
    • Switch jobs and do the MSQ as something other than PLD in order to keep the same level as the quest you're on.
    • Burn through the quests quickly as PLD and get a piddly amount of xp for them, until you catch up to the level appropriate ones.

As a side note, I know the Road to 60 buff gives you a huge jump on xp, but it helps to reign that it by just sticking the MSQ for your main job and leaving any side quests for alt jobs. Even without the buff, the MSQ and any dungeons that it requires you to do will almost always give enough xp to never run into a wall where you are too low level to advance in the Main Story. Doing things like side quests, challenge log, daily roulettes, or PotD will only exacerbate the excessive xp that Road gives you, so it's best to do those things as a job you don't want to reserve for the MSQ.
