Yes, it does add that bit of "realism" and "logic". However, only if there is such a thing as storage chest that is far more capable.

After all, what would stop you in real life to rent an apartment and filling it up completely with more or less junk?! Nothing. So there should be nothing of the sort for virtual characters either. Limited personal inventory means that the housing/town/personal faction inventory/whatever should be that much higher to compensate.

Ultimately the amount of inventory space needs to allow for some limited hoarding while being sufficiently high to meet the regular needs of all the classes available. In other games that's usually one, in this game that's fifteen, soon three more. This game does allow for that if you stick to War/Magic classes...but the moment you seriously enter the Land/Hand classes the basic inventory is just too small.

That being said...ten retainers is way more than enough. If someone have problems with that amount of space then they should organize it. The game should not allow unlimited space after all, and 1400! extra spaces (from eight extra retainers) is way over what should be enough for even a semi-focused use. You shouldn't stack items for rare crafts after all. Only for the common ones, plus the rarest materials.
