FF15 Event - Feedback (Event Spoilers)

(Keep in mind, these are my thoughts and my opinion)

Hello SE Team and fellow eorzeans,

gotta say that was a nice, long, very polished, event in my opinion. The campfire cutscene with the multiple choice answer was letting me smile because, boy i am a fan of these choice answers. Thank you for that.

1st fight was good. To fight a FF15 enemy.. was a good experience.
2nd fight was <3.. Well thanks to my favorite element. I died a few times because of the wrong timing used for my warp attack. Once figured out it was a cakewalk more or less. Then the quick time event. I honestly didnt expect one there. Well breaking out of a tornado cage was a neat idea imo.

Thank you SE. Overall a great event. Loved it.

And no i wasn't part of the victims of the bug that happend during the garuda fight. Nor did i play FF15 at all.

Have a nice event time everyone \o/

--just sad i can't replay scenario fights--

The camp stuff was really neat, I enjoyed the whole camping road trip thing in FFXV so its cute to see again. I've long wished for a sort of camping sites and campfire spots in FFXIV, although back then when I asked for it the game was a lot slower (1.0 era).. where it would fit really well - you'd have to add some buff or some special feature for it to be worth while now. Still could be quite cool experience to go from camp to camp if they did find something to do with them (buff, exp bonus, free food, food crafting enhancement, something).

Hope they have another event next year, get some more gear (there is a lot of gear in FFXV that could fit really well in this world), songs, and maybe some car customization . Can also consider all those nice 3d food models they made, new recipes you can learn / place / eat (even if they cash shop the food later please make them recipes and not one off items, one off would take away the FFXV feeling).

    My feedback is:

    Cutscenes were cool.

FATE was pants... As is the case with this sort of thing... Hang around for an indeterminate amount of time for the FATE to spawn... Spam everything you can to try and get credit among the hundreds of people doing the same thing... Walk away not actually knowing what it was you were killing because everything was buried under the mass of players.

At least it spawned relatively quickly and was only needed 3 times to get all the Orchestrion Rolls.

First fight: Kind of cool. Some different telegraphs used. Though the beacon things were annoying, with Noctis' AI being a bit temperamental about which one he'll run for as well as some pretty tight timers to actually make it to them in the first place.

Second fight: Pretty meh. Most of the fight was just boring chip away at a health sponge. The bonus damage from "Timing" the warps was also barely noticeable as a result. The end was neat though, nice little QTE finish with a nice little WoL-in-ShB-Trailer-esk weapon swapping from Noctis (Also, we get to smack Garuda during that too)

    Rewards from the event:
    * Clothing is neat. I'll see if I can incorporate them into some nice glamours. (Also, yay for things that can go into the Armoire! *Glares at Scion Adventurer/Traveller gear*)

    * Orchestion Rolls have a nice selection. Might mean something to me one day if I ever obtain a house...

    * Mount/Hair/Card. Pretty cool. But why purchased with MGP though? I don't understand... (At least I had the funds to afford them all... Still... Why?)

I was really hoping they were not going to make me fish when he mentioned it.

where else would you put it? the event is not really fun to spam and you have to make people feel like they earned it in some way.

would've been nice if Cid mentioned it in dialog though.

Yeah I don't get the point of these FATES when it's like 50 plus people going at it and you can't even see the boss. Took me going there not fighting just to see what the FATE boss was.

    I enjoyed it.
I really liked being able to warp strike, that was fun.

The full room aoe was a bit tight on the timing.
Took me several tries to get it to register me not in the 'instant death' zone even though I had warped to, and was standing by, the pillars every time it went off.

Same sentiment here, cool fights, bit on the simplistic side but that "ultimate" move felt plain buggy with all the server latency.

The car does look a bit... well.. dumb though. Totally does not fit Eorza. *sigh*

Overall I thought the event was pretty good, the fights were interesting and were a fun way of introducing XV mechanics into XIV in a novel way.

The only little things I got disappointed with were the cutscenes - the camping scene was great but I actually got disappointed we didn't get to fish, or get an opportunity to get a screenshot of that photo op (doubling up as an introduction to gpose!)

Minor niggles but I thought that would have been a great little way to better the immersion and throw in some more XV references.

I very much enjoyed this event too. It was cute and I look forward to trying different dialog options on my alts. Too bad you have to be level 50 + beat ARR MSQ, most of them aren't up there yet.

I will say though that the car is a horrible disappointment with how much it clips. I travel a lot through ARR zones and seeing the entire undergrowth in the backseat is more than a bit jarring. I like the design and the music choice but the clipping is a bit much for me.
