There is an exchange ingame - for golden chocobo-feathers, that you get from recruiting friends (but be careful: Those feathers are limited in the amount you can get AND also used to buy other stuff, like mounts)

Also of note: If you buy all the mounts with the feathers, you still have 9 to use for dyes...that's what I did at least.

Good to know how many spares ones you'll have IF you recruit the maximum amount of friends.

Little trick I used aswell: Since the feathers will get send to all of your characters, you can create alts and as long as the gear you wanna dye is tradeable, you can use them to basically just buy the dye, dye the piece you want and ask a friend to send it to your main.

I know it's rng, but to this date my retainers have brought back several rare dyes including well over a dozen jet black, but have yet to bring back even one pure white. I basically sell the black to mitigate the cost of the white, since the white is always priced higher.

I wonder if anyone has had the opposite. You and I should talk trades
