Thread: New Game Plus suggestion: 1.0

I just heard the news about new game plus and I gotta say I am THRILLED. This is what I've always wanted, to re-experience the story, in addition to a new way to level side jobs. With the ability to start at specific base patches, I have to wonder, could we expect a "reborn" 1.0 someday? I would love to play the 1.0 storyline, as I never had the chance to before the Calamity.
I dont think it would be terribly difficult, keep the basic weapon system the same as 2.0+, divide the zones like we have them now, but add the quests and story from back then, I dont know if all of that data was saved prior to servers shutting down, if they were I'd imagine it would be all the easier.

I doubt repositioning/importing everything that existed in the old world into the new world is anywhere near the small task you're thinking it is. I wouldn't doubt the systems are different enough either now that an import wouldn't be easy even if the areas still matched.

I just wish new game + came out before 5.0

Perhaps, I know virtually nothing about the process, simply speculation on my end. Well, I'd accept an "expansion" based on that then, based on the same premise. Rebuild it from the ground up, add storyline, new game plus allows us to keep our characters and it drops us back where we left off.

if you watched the fan-fest stream (im not being rude just using it so people can go back in and find what im talking about) they stated you will not be losing current progress and would be doing the story over at that characters level, that means anyone who is lvl 70 (or lvl 80) can go back in and do it at lvl those lvls. plus it will be completely unique to ffxiv meaning it will not be like other games version of new-game +, they referenced another mmo that has this but i dont remember the name, but that doesn't mean it will be exactly like it, and they said it will be subject to change because its still in development

Did they even say you can get experience again if you already did the story? Pretty sure they didn't.
1.0 won't ever happen.

From my understand all it does it unmark your MSQ completed. Therefore letting you rerun the story. The only benefit to this is EXP gained from it. Great way to quickly level alts.

IF they reset the quest as you get exp from it. They never said that i'm certain.

Wasn't there an interview or something where Yoshi-P pretty much said that 1.0 will never return? Something about it just... no longer existing or something.
