It's all very circumstantial. What are you looking to get accepted in to? Something like the first guild in your example, or the second? An average player looking for an average group shouldn't really have much issue, and vice versa. Like, my group may be a bit above average, but not enough to be able to easily recruit a consistently orange player. Of course there are outliers on both sides, like a high-end group giving an average person a chance or a high-end player wanting to take a step back to be in a more casual group. But like someone else pointed out, most players want to raid with people are at least equally skilled as they are. Once you are at this point it's not so much a question of acceptance in general, but rather your ability to target a specific group you want to be a part of and have success.

This is why so many websites now throw cookie policies in your face when you visit them and won't even let you continue browsing the site untill you have accepted them or set your privacy preferences.

Regardless, this remains public information. If our usernames were considered private or sensitive information, it wouldn't be displayed where anyone can find it with a simple google search.

That consent however does not carry over to FFLOGS or any other third party which is why I like many others have said fflogs should be "Opt In" not Opt Out. because I haven't given fflogs explicit consent to hold data on me or my online id (character). and I doubt SE has actually given explicit consent either (espeically so given there official stance on parsers and third party tools)

It's a third party Parser, which is against SE's Terms of Service. If they wish to use it, let them.
