No fairy sch?

So please don’t take this question super seriously. I am curious, but known how useful the fairy is. I’m only asking out of curiosity. Okay, so my question is: Is there any way for the sch to be good in a dungeon without their fairy? Like do you know a way for the sch to be a good healer without using fairies, or only using them with dissapate, or so on? Again, I know that fairies are required for full usefulness of sch, but I’m just curious if anyone thinks they have a setup that could make sch useful without fairy using skills already in the game.

Because of the way SCH's kit is set up, the fairy is very critical to a good amount of high-level/hard dungeons. At lower levels, roughly Haukke Manor and below, she isn't as important, but usually acts as the primary healer of the fights, while the SCH can focus solely on DPS.

Now this is when SCH is the only healer. In content where there is a cohealer, while having the fairy is important, not having her for some portions of the fights wont hurt that much. But it must be stated that only applies to content that is "easy" and a cohealer who is compedant.

But level also plays a role in these issues as well. Level 50 is a bit harder to do without the fairy compared to 60 or 70. The "main" purpose of the fairy is to offset SCH's lower potency heals. Physick is only 400 potency, compared to Cure that is 450 and Benefic that is 440 or 460 post level 30, with a sect equipped. Not to mention SCHs dont have a second tier primary heal, or a first tier AoE heal, though Indomitability is close.

As is indicated with SMN, the pets are just a glorified DoT/Hot.

It's a bit of an odd question because "useful" is very broad. It could mean anything from getting through content to being highly optimized.

Depending on content and how you play, Eos could be 50% of your healing. So if you were to do the same content without a faerie you would have to heal in theory twice as much and therefore no longer be optimized and lose a lot of dps.

If you mean getting through content, I'm pretty sure you can do anything as sch without a faerie.

I'd recommend you check out the Balance discord, which is heavy into theory crafting. The SCH channels have guides on them that discuss this. The long and the short of it is that without a fairy, SCH isn't as good as the other 2.

Lily (the faerie's actual name) is half of your healing. If you don't like having a pet to manage then I'm afraid the scholar class isn't for you. While you're side of the healing does become more involved as you go on and I would like to see more updates to the faerie side of healing, Liliy's embrace and other spells are your heavy healing abilities.
