Every MSQ cut scene being voiced from ARR to Shadowbringers. It's feels odd hearing voices on cut scenes, then it either goes silent halfway or the next cut scene is silent, then the next one is voiced, then silent, and so on.

This isn't a tech improvement. This is justwastingthrowing more money at voice actors.
-
HD textures, new anti-aliasing... or just something to lessen the horrible effect from repeated textures on big walls (in Yanxia for example)
If they have any resource for tech improvements, I'd prefer them to focus on non-graphical/server-side : open more functionalities when in instance (/tell, fc menu, friend list, etc.) since we're spending more and more time in instance (Eureka, even the new gold saucer game is an instance...), and I guess the world-visit feature will have the same problems.

Your are right but technically text cutscenes are old tech aka beginning of time video games. This game need high tech. This isn't a tech improvement. This is justwastingthrowing more money at voice actors.

They really need to start future proofing FFxiv for the next 5 years. Even if that means dropping another moon...

I can’t begin to imagine how much this would cost and how loudly people would complain for such a waste of time and resources on old content. I also have no idea how they would handle it when a number of voice actors were replaced/passed away in later content, so either the voice actors for certain languages would jump back and forth between the new and old recordings or those cutscenes would all have to be revoiced too.
Back before I played this game, I found the idea of silent cutscenes extremely weird and commented on how I wished they would change it before release. However, aside from getting used to it, experiencing the sheer volume of cutscenes across all of the MSQ, side quests, DOH and DOL quests.... I immediately understood why it would have been a massively wasteful endeavour - appealing though it sounds.
With that said, I can’t understand how 1.0 cutscenes seem so much more vastly cinematic by comparison to 2.0+ cutscenes. They have certainly improved as time went on, but with exception to a certain scene in 3.0, everything still appears clearly limited by the stiff animations. I would really love to see improvements in this regard but I absolutely do not expect it. Just about every other graphical improvement mentioned thusfar also earns my approval.
Occasional use of motion capture, rather than solely stock emotes, if I recall correctly. It also seems that there was simply a fair deal more care taken with the camera angles in certain cutscenes, iirc. I'd argue it offered more than full dubbing does in many cases, but it'd be far more costly as well. With that said, I can’t understand how 1.0 cutscenes seem so much more vastly cinematic by comparison to 2.0+ cutscenes. i would like a depth of field options while playing and better anti aliasing
My main beefs are textures and aliasing. No matter how much DSR I apply I can't seem to rid myself entirely of all jaggies, and some of those textures during cut scenes... wow. I think the game looks good though, and most importantly runs super smooth so I can't complain too much.

All I want is HD textures.

Two biggest issues visually imo are visible pixels (textures) and visible jagged things (AA, and probably other cool stuff I can't begin to understand). Then I'd say some stuff just needs more polygons, some things hide behind a 3d looking texture but are quite simple shape wise (which is an efficient choice for mid-lower computers of course, but if we're talking high end "gimme gimmie" I'd like to see the rock actually be at least somewhat 3d and not just appear to be lol).
