Don't you need to have an ability on or something? Truth of Mountains, right? Otherwise you can't see unspoiled nodes.

This. Activate the level 46 Truth of _____ ability(theres a seperate one for each gatherer). This will allow you to see unspoiled nodes for your class(and legendary ones if youve bought the right folklore books), and then collect* whats there.

* Provided your stats are sufficient. This is more of an issue for some of the advanced folklore mats.

To add on, you will need to activate "toil of the pioneer" while in the gathering menu to be able to see where to mine. You could also just skip doing that and look up the exact slot to hit. For Adamantite it's slot 6.
