Recently I've decided to seriously invest some time into leveling a healing class so I can have a wide repertoire of skills for any occasion since I already have a DPS and tank at a reasonably high level. I chose White Mage because I wanted the lvl50 job gear because it's awesome. It started out easily enough, I had already leveled to 15 on my own so me and a group of friends decided to level our classes to 30 at first. So from 15-30 it was smooth sailing since the possibility of a party wipe was rather inconsequential. However, from 30-50 was a whole other story as my friends were unavailable so I had to run PUGs.

What I ran into in those few dozen runs were tanks pulling large groups and not holding or not using defensive buffs, ranged DPS standing right beside the mob packs (sometimes right beside the tank) and DPS in general pulling things they shouldn't. The worst was the run where we wiped in Sastasha of all places due to the tank wanting to do a large pull and losing it on the first heal and I just couldn't keep up with everyone taking damage at the same time.

So why am I posting this? Because I wanted to give my heartfelt appreciation to all you full-time healer mains out there. I knew healing could be a bothersome job with all the blockheads out there, but I never realized just how bad it really was until I ran the gamut myself. You guys either have the patience of a saint or a masochistic streak a mile wide to put up that on a regular basis. So from one full-time blockhead/part-time healer: Thank you for all you do.

I make it a rule to give all recommendations to healer class cause they are the real mvp any time a healer leaves we end up relay f uped. I ran into a guild hiest the other day and tank was just yelling at all of us trying to keep the area clear and when we got swamped because he refused to listen so he blamed it on the healer and dps for not doing there jobs right and left so moral of the story Healer should be leaders not tanks or dps. And this from a dps and tank main.

That's not your fault. Ask the tank to pull only one pack. You can manage big pull at lv70 with all your skills and with a good tank.
And for the DPS who pull the mobs, I don't heal them unless the tank take back agro.
As a Tank DRK lv 70, my creed is "You pull, you tank".

I try to have the "you pull it, you tank it" mentality, but always end up saving them anyways for some reason. It's even worse when I heal because I say that I'm going to let the next DPS that pulls ahead die, but end up fighting to keep them alive with everyone else. I guess I have the healer version of the Hippocratic Oath and just can't let someone die if I can help it.

That one's kinda iffy for me: if I'm tanking it's easier to see if the healer is doing their job. If I'm DPS it's a little harder as I try to juggle between whether the tank pulled and held all the way through or if the healer is generous and not giving the tank enough time establish a hold. If undecided I just give it to my fellow DPS barring that they didn't do something monumentally stupid.
