Is the Primal data center dying?

It seems over the past month that the data center as a whole is in a constant state of free fall. At the time I usually play there’s always been at least 70 items in the PF and the market board wasn’t too bad. Lately prices have, at least from what I’ve seen become the lowest of the two current data centers and the PF doesn’t even hit 40 items. The world relocation, in my opinion doesn’t do Primal any favors either. Would it be best to take advantage of the upcoming free transfer and go to one of the other two? Thoughts on Primal as a whole?

Primal isn't too far behind Aether population wise. Unfortunately, it hasn't ever cultivated an image for itself. When people think of a raid server they're immediately told Gilgamesh or Sarg. If they ask about roleplay, you're directed to Balmung or Mateus. Primal as always been sort of a middle ground. Nevertheless, it's far from dying. You do have to keep in mind, we're basically about to enter a lengthily drought. Many people are either taking Alphascape slow, ignoring it altogether or have already finished it because there isn't any rush outside parsing. 4.5 should bring people back, but expect it to fall off again once Blue Mage hype or lack thereof wanes. If you aren't finding what you're looking for, why not make an alt on Aether and poke around? That way you'll have a better idea if it fits before committing to a transfer.

So it's a buyers market? Boo hoo. I don't feel bad for people who overprice things.

I don't do much with PF but I'm definitely jumping ship once Crystal is available. But that's mainly because I have a friend that's on a world that's about to be shuffled over and there's a few worlds on Primal that seem to be full of really annoying or rude people that always make me groan when I see them in party/alliance chat because I know it's always going to be a Thing. I know there's bad people everywhere, but the further I can get away from this certain type the better.

Though I have noticed recently it's harder to actually sell things on the MB, either from lack of interest in those items or getting undercut by someone that never sleeps as soon as I update prices. But that could be a universal thing.

I mainly use PF for WT.. up until a few weeks ago I used to be able to finish it in a week

Primal isn't dying. We're in the usual quiet time of the patch cycle, getting towards the end of an expansion, and with a relic quest that is funneling players into Eureka instead of DF / PF. Of course it is your call if you want to move servers.

Even Eureka has been an issue. It’s been impossible to find a challenge log party that’s for under level 20 even on Tuesday and there’s not a lot of cooperation especially when it comes to healing the dead unless your in the NM train

Thats how it is on every datacenter because most people are not in that level anymore.

Not sure which Primal data center you're playing on, but no Primal isn't dying. I play during EST peak hrs of 8pm-1am. Things normally don't slow down till around 1-2am EST for me personally. PF is quite active and always plenty of people in Eureka (least in Pyros and some Pagos). Maybe it's your times? Again not sure, but I've not had this personal issue, not saying it isn't happening to you personally. But it isn't so widespread it's happening to us all on Primal.

Sep thru Nov is a prime time for game releases. Almost all the AAA title launch at this time.
