What do you hope to see in 4.5/5.0 or beyond?

From Bosses to Weapons, what do you hope to see in 5.0?

I'd really love to see some new non-robe battlemage designs for casters/ranged, more magitek-style mounts (can we get a mini-version of the flying two-legged walker magitek thingies we saw in the Battle for Silvertear Lake and others??)
I'd also like a relic weapon design for WHM (and others) that doesnt blind the ever-living heck outta ya or take away from the weapon itself with that overglow. How about instead of glow, some cool lightup sections of the weapon that maybe pulse or something.

I'm also hoping that with the introduction of Viera (and before that the Bangaa from Return to Rabanastre) that we'll atleast see a variant of the moogles in game that look like the ones from Tactics/FF12. Even just a small cameo or easter egg would please me greatly

What do you want to see?

I know it probably won't happen in 4.5 but I really hope Yoshi gets his head out of his ass and listens to the fanbase to fix the following:

    Remove glamor restrictions altogether.
This has been something the playerbase has been asking for a very, very long time. While glamoring has gotten a tad bit less restrictive due to SE just recoloring and creating gear from other jobs for most jobs to use but even still, there are a ton of armors and clothing in the game that is locked behind job requirements and Yoshi's argument is that players wouldn't know who the tank or healer is if they didn't look the part....But we sure can glamour a bikini over heavy armor though....

    Just make housing instanced.
Like Aion, PSO2 or Wildstar. That way everyone can have a house and not have to do crazy things to get one. Once again, SE has some wierd argument saying that they would like housing to be this "communty" like system where you could walk outside and see your neighbors. As we all know, most of the housing area is SUPER dead. I hardly see 1-2 people when I'm wondering around. It might as well just be instanced. People can still visit your home, you could still invite as many people as you wanted. Everyone is happy.

    More interesting dungeons
For those like me who actually enjoy doing dungeons. There are some games like Aion or ESO where you can enter a dungeon and run into an NPC that can assign a quest inside the dungeon. In Aion, there is a dungeon that stands out to me called Kromede's Trial that has you play as a story character. Inside this dungeon, there are secret/hidden rooms, a guest where you have to put crazed prisioner out of their misery and you can collect "tools" that make the dungeon easier. For example, there's a wall that only be broken down if you get a particular item which you have to collect from an mini-boss. Sure you could just run through the dungeon and kill the boss, but now you have options. Something like this in FFXIV would break up the monotony of just running a dungeon and fighting a boss and maybe encourage some replaybality as well.

A Battle Arena, Stage Play Area and Haunted House in the Golden Saucer
They're already adding a railer shooter just like the one in FFVII...They may as well keep it going and add everything else from the Golden Saucer...One can dream.

I agree with the non-robe glams for casters/healers, I mean, seriously, it's been recycled so many times already... And also agree with the overglowy weapons too.

I hope to see a relic weapon not locked behind a stupid place, and that it has various ways to complete the different steps.

I hope to see less unisex hairstyles and glamours, some stuff looks awful in dudes, and other stuff looks awful in girls as well.

I hope to see many more male glams.

I hope to see real eyebrows for Highlander Males.

I hope to see more instanced battles like the one with Lakshmi in 4.1, where NPC were able to do mechanics.

I hope we can visit Thavnair, and the rest of the Eastern cities.

I mean, yeah, looking at the weapon they're wielding is already a better indicator of what class they're playing. I don't see why armor and clothing have to be restricted as is.

Hmm, I love these threads lol. In no particular order:
    • Chocobo digging game - FFXI refrence
    • Real chocobo breeding/raising (I felt too disconnected with the gold saucer version)
    • Instanced housing (as at least an option, can let people stay in a small cluster if they want - look at Wildstar as reference)
    • If we keep going to the magitek areas I'd like to see a Zanarkand like city soon (that we can hang out in, once lore makes sense)
    • Sky city, like Jeuno (or sky itself in FFXI lol), Cleyra the giant tree high up (FFIX), Castle in the sky (studio ghibli)
    • If we keep seeing so many roads I might not hate the idea of Noctis car as a four person mount, but there is going to have to be some no 180 animation built it cause that'd be.. awful lol
    • I'm assuming they'll add Viera but a Ronso like race would be great, perhaps a very bestial version of Viera as the other clan
    • More glamour options for summoner, so that most if not all spells become very primal themed (saw an idea to phoenix theme summoner's ressurection spell for example)
    • FFIX moogle buddy, they can build in the concept with their mobile app they have (but I'd like to see many features in game, like taking from stash, npc selling, etc)
    • Chocobo Paradise
    • Mognet
    • Glamour, armoire, and achievement system becoming more unified when it comes to item storage and where to find/use them.
    • Multi-dye armor (like Guild Wars 2)
    • Work on making account bound things, like cash shop (like WoW has for achievements and all purchases)
    • Outside of golden saucer (like you can stand on the outside of it)
    • Flammie as a mount still lol (secret of mana)
    • More FC housing build options, I remember them talking about build towers that offered exp bonuses way back when.. Would be nice to build relationships (like you do with the grand company) with beastmen and have a sort of Guild Wars 2 zone that your company owns and builds up as a long term group project.
    • Higher resolution textures to reduce the most obvious pixels (doesn't have to be 4k)
    • Higher poly models, mostly on characters, to give people toes and body shape lol

Me neither and every time I hear that excuse, it frustrates me to no end. Not only the weapon, but the job indicator next to the player's healthbar as well.

eyebrows for highlander males will never happen cuz lore reasons.

instanced housing will never happen - maybe they will make it different for when Ishgard stuff finally opens up after the crafters/gatherers fix it up.

FFXIV moogles will always look like the moogles they are cuz they are the moogles of this universe.

And yeah the housing thing! Ive been thinking that since it first came out that it should have just been instanced like Moghouses/gardens in XI.

And if they removed the glamour restrictions I could finally make my WHM and BRD the way I want them!!

I know WoW (archaeology) made something that might feel similar but imo FFXIV is already better, in WoW you'd have to get off your mount and that's not so here. So the process, even if they kept it similar, is already a lot more fluid and thus more repeatable :3. Besides Chocobos are better lol.

Not that I'm suggesting it has to be a specific type of mini-game, just that fairly certain FFXIVs can be better than FFIXs and feel more certain that if it's similar to WoW's it'll be better even (and it's not a copy from because FFIX is older than WoW haha).

When I got to that part of the game my game got so side tracked lol, I mastered all the colors I could whenever I could and went straight to chocobo heaven :3.

Chocobo digging would be even cooler if it was done kind of like Treasure maps are now! Like If your Choboco found a spot and collected a treasure it could have the potential of spawning a warp hole to a solo mini dungeon (Chocobo Forest maybe?) similar to how Uznair works, but where you and your boco team up and fight through to collect an even better treasure!

Seriously! You should start a request thread for that! I love threads like these. They spark so many imaginative ideas.
