Couch Co-oP Guide for PC (Steam Version)

Hey all! I asked around a lot and couldnt find any info on how to do this. My girlfriend is wanting to get into the game and needed a way we could BOTH play.

This guide will show you how to run two versions of the game on one PC at the same time. This method requires:
NO ADDITIONAL DOWNLOADS OR ADDONS
TWO VALID COPIES OF THE GAME
TWO PEOPLE TO PLAY

Since its "almost" like a true two player mode and doesn't use ANY third party programs it doesnt break the ToS for FFXIV.

If you run the PC version launcher directly, it multiboxes just fine. That would obviate several steam-related steps.

Unfortunately the steam version won't launch outside of steam, I've tried in many ways. The steam app will also limit you on only running one at a time.

I made this guide as a start to finish way to teach people how to multibox and alter settings without downloading anything extra.

So you're essentially running the game twice under two different accounts on the same computer on a two monitor setup? How is frame rates? Sounds like you would need a super beefy computer to be able to run like this.

My frames are actually quite good. I'm running a mid range system (Ryzen 2700x, GTX 1080 NOT TI, and 8GBs of ram and it kills it. Steady 60fps on both ends and running it in full screen I can still hit higher fps (although it causes a few bugs and weird things to happen)
