Why do DPS not use Limit Break anymore?

I don't lb3 bosses until the last 10% in Duty Finder. I've learned from experience that no matter how easy the boss might seem or how smoothly it's going, a group can always somehow fall apart and near-wipe leaving just a healer and one or two others alive. The tiny bit of extra damage rarely makes a difference on non-savage, but a healer lb3 can save a wipe.

In dungeons, lbs are better used by ranged or casters on trash packs instead of bosses. If your party doesn't have one of those then it doesn't really matter since it has pretty minimal effects on bosses comparatively anyway.

Honestly, as a relatively new dps, I'm afraid that I'll take it from someone else. Doesn't help when people in chat say to LB, but don't say who should. Even just saying what job should would help.

Many people don't know how often the LB gauge fills up during a dungeon. If fills up randomly, sometimes fast, sometimes slow, and in one boss Alexander it fills up 3 gauges in 4 monsters.

So in the end people are afraid using a resource that would be needed at the last moment.

As a DPS, I do hold back LBing the second the 3rd bars fill if I know the group I'm with is pure CRAP. I'd rather let a healer LB and clear than try to push dps and lose cause players suck.

There are several reasons.

• Holding it the Caster/Ranage to use on large pull
• Content is new and people want to save it for Healer LB3
• People have... concerns with the party and want Healer LB3
• The melee DPS don't want to lose uptime for their parse

To add, sometimes people simply forget. I usually play BRD or AST, one where the LB3 is rarely used because lul physical ranged LB (unless I hijack it in 24-mans) and one where the LB3 is basically an “oh sh*t” button. So sometimes if I’m on a job I don’t play often, I simply forget LB3 is even a thing.

I've had one instance where tank LB was used in a situation that would of resulted in a wipe otherwise. Was in WoD, we're about 80% of the way to killing cloud of darkness, meteors begin to fall and I see that about 4 of them aren't covered so I adlo up. Meteors hit and 90% of the raid is wiped out and she proceeds to kill the other two alliances before going into her cloud add phase. There is just myself on Sch, and a Rdm alive at this moment... thought of using LB3 but CoD had already absorbed max stacks of clouds. So I rez the tank and as much of the party as I can, and once she stops spawning adds I drop sacred soil, succor, and fey covenant and tell the tank to LB3.

We survived by less than 300 hp for everyone but the tank, I proceed to start reviving the other alliances while cohealer keeps our tank up and we clear.
