    An interesting end of Eurika

To try to introduce an idea that is absent of negative outlook on current flavour of the month topics, I present to you an idea that had come to mind last night.

One possibility that would be fairly interesting I think (but doubtful they'd do it) is to incorporate a duty trial with the entity sealed in Eurika using Eurika mechanics (L actions + magicite buff)

Obviously a great many people would dislike the idea I'm sure but it would be a unique opportunity to reward those that slog through the content and could help extend the lifespan of Eurika post 4.55

With L actions and buffs via magicite it could lead to some rather interesting strategies.

As for what it would reward, I really can't say. But it's easy to see them adding a card/mount as they have added 2 mounts and 5(6?) cards to Eurika thus far.

Eurika isn't for everyone. And most people don't like It, but just because you don't quite fancy It, doesn't mean that those who have put in the work shouldn't get some kind of payoff for the nontrivial amount of time spent in this content.

Umm no. Your reward for the content is relic weapon and armor as well as emotes, hairstyle, and mounts if you get lucky. I'd hate to see this content being extended into future expansions.

4.55 is where Eureka should end. Do not bring this crap into 5.0

They put basically everything of any worth in the last patch behind Eureka. My linkshells are full of people counting off the gil they make out of going in there, the mounts and hairstyles and emotes they get.
Like AppleJinx said, the people who do slog through Eureka are awarded enough. If the devs still think not enough people throw themselves at the content, awards aren't what's going to change it. We're way past the threshold where more awards would make a difference - the problem's the type of content in general, and the hurdle that's Pagos in particular (I will not lie, you probably would've seen me in Pyros if I didn't need to clear Pagos first).

Remember how people were pissed off about having to do Hildebrand in 2.x to unlock trials? This would make that look like an unlit match next to an active volcano.

Regardless of anything they do. No matter the content. No matter the compromise to move the game forward, large portions of the games community will complain.

While I don't doubt that people would be livid, I feel like the Magicite component and L actions can be used to create unique trials that are independent of the Eurika zone. The L actions alone open so many options to jobs that it can be really fun to explore the idea in duty styled content. I understand the complaints, really I do. If the complaint would be due to having to go past Anemos, then Anemos could be the requirement to do said duties.

I actually like that the team took this risk. While I myself find progression to be abruptly unpleasant past entering Pagos, it's genuinely refreshing as opposed to the formulaic structure that Stormblood has been accused of.

You can be successful by doing the same thing over and over, but eventually you'll see diminishing returns on the success until it's, "just another x."

What risk did they take? Since before the release of any of the 3 Eureka zones many people were correctly calling out the fact that this was going to be Diadem all over again except with the Relic attached to keep it from falling off the wayside like Diadem did. They did their darnest to make sure you stayed there and that carrot(Relic) was not something you could get fast, enjoyment be damned. There is nothing revolutionary or risky about this content, it simply fills the slot Diadem filled in Heavensward, hell its even set up in the same way for longevity. Dead come ShadowBringers.

At this point the content has gotten way too much attention for what is a perfect representation of the Dev’s stubbornness. Refusal to listen to player feedback, refusal to learn from past mistakes and so disconnected from the main players that they think a trinket or hairstyle will be enough to swell the active players doing it. So much for those lessons learned from 1.0’s travesty. They have conformed to a safety net confusing it for success, fail to meet player needs thru “limitation” excuses and still follow with solving massive issues with “We’ll patch it later”.

If Eureka was worthwhile content that I'd want more people to enjoy, your idea would be great.
But it's Eureka. I feel bad whenever I see a new player coming into it because I wouldn't recommend it to my worst ene- okay, okay, I would, but not to anyone I like.

So the last thing I want is extending its lifespan. Just let it die and eventually nerf it to the point of being completely soloable in one evening. Then I might have no qualms introducing people to it.

A trial within Eureka. Kind of reminds me of BCNM or more like Shinryu FFXI. You would go inside using your superpowers to fight something supposed to own you without them. They should have interspersed stuff like that a certain intervals so it was not just all open field stuff during the steps of relic.

I dislike when people say I don't like X content so stop making it. Raiding is not for everyone but they keep implementing those. I am sure a significant amount of the playerbase does not like raiding either. There is people who never craft, never raid, never do gold saucer, never do the little book thing you get in Idylshire, and never do dungeons to cap gear between patches until rewards become easier.

Farming a carrot in the field you hate, when there are other farms with different carrots. Your farm sucks so I will burn yours to the ground. But what happens if your favorite farm gets burned?

Dev's has listened to player feedback and that's why Pyros is so much better, and fun, compare to Anemos and Pagos.
The only thing thats better in pyros is the leveling compared to pagos, the rest is the same crap.
