How do I deal with Eureka Anemos?

    Long story short:

I made a new character on an EU server and recently unlocked Eureka Anemos, but when I looked around, everyone I saw was at least level 15 and me trying to look for a group at level 1-2 for about an hour yielded no results.

Being a year behind when it comes to Eureka, how am I supposed to deal with this? Is there some trick to catching up or should I just give up on Eureka entirely?

People don't really level through chaining in Anemos anymore. Or in Pyros, for that matter. The only part of Eureka where grinding common mobs for EXP is a thing is Pagos only because Pagos NM spawn rate and EXP yield are still kinda abysmal despite numerous buffs.
Anemos is all about the FATE train. the premise is basically: a giant blob of people is running from spawn to spawn fighting bosses. For the first couple of levels you won't be able to contribute much and will probably spend most of the time lying on the floor, but people are generally still happy to help you catch up by passively soaking the EXP (you still need to hit the boss a few times to get credit tho)

To get on the train all you need to do is say "LFG train" in /shout and you should get an invite within moments. If you see any level 17s and above in your party, they might even be able to carry you around on a two-seater so you don't get murdered by everything along the way.

Once you're 20, you can start looking for challennge log farm. People usually do them in Anemos to get a headstart on Pagos levelling, which is otherwise a long and mind-numbing process that people are unwilling to group up for until around level 30ish.

Also, if you're new, remember that dying and returning to aetheryte takes away your EXP. So if you happen to die on the way, ask for a rez. At least in Anemos there's a high chance someone will come.

    How to deal with Eureka:

Exit the zone, and never reenter it again. You're life will be all the better for it.

    Otherwise what BonBori said.

Yah also what Burningskull said. Whenever friends or guildies ask me about Eureka, I strongly recommend against it. I only suffered through Eureka because it held hostage a couple of very specific cosmetic drops (hair and emotes) that I wanted. The gameplay loop in all 3 iterations is... just utterly unappealing to me. Even the story is mhm... it finally seems to be getting vaguely somewherewards by the end of Pyros, but due to the nature of Eureka, the way the story is told to you is very uninteractive, rudimentary and poorly paced as a side effect of being tied to your level. OH! And I mean "being told to you" in a very literal sense, it's mostly characters throwing dry exposition at you, explaining all the stuff that's unfolding without your involvement or even a good reason to get involved in. You're just there because... I guess because the WoL is pathologically incapable of saying no. I have never felt so unmotivated to pursue a storyline and I'm an OCD completionist, I clear all the sidequests that pop up on my map, read every line of dialogue and generally try to keep up with lore and narrative. So I think that's saying something.

Anyways that's BonBon's Eureka rant #334 done. If you really feel like you want to give Eureka a chance regardless, I think you definitely should experience it and form your own opinion. To me it's an antithesis of a modern MMO, full of design paradigms that the genre has evolved out of many years ago and for many good reasons. If I wanted any of that, I would have never picked up a game like FF14 in the first place. It's... I feel a very niche thing designed to appeal to a niche demographic, but someone must have missed the memo because they decided to lock relics and attractive rewards behind that to get players outside of that niche into it in spite of themselves.

Challenge logs are most definitely worth it even below level 20. Honestly you get way more EXP from completely a challenge long than you do from fates.
Also, you only get Protean crystals from chaining enemies, and without them you're not getting the relic weapon.

Not entirely accurate. You can exchange Anemos Crystals for Protean by talking to Gerolt. I've gone through all of Anemos without chain-farming crystals even once. You can also buy Pazuzu Feathers from another vendor at the camp. I believe both options were added around the Pagos patch.

I attempted to do logs a few times and I think I got a few crystals out of that, but as a latecomer myself, I found it incredibly hard to find enough low-level people to do that with. And that was still months ago. At this point I assume it's just impossible.

This is the problem with eureka and what makes it the worst relic system ever. NOBODY will be doing it come 5.0 so if you want those glamours too bad.

Teleport->Rhalgr's Reach->unlock Omega & St. Mocienne's so you can do the Burn Roulette for Genesis and Omega for the crystalloids.

Best way to deal with Eureka imho.

I would always recommend completing the Challenge Log each week, its huge EXP, i have only done it for three weeks and gained Lv20 to 28, else I'd not bother, the Fate train is garbage after Lv19+.
