Two Simple Changes to Make the Goblet More Desirable

    1) Change the color of the yards
Nobody wants to move into a plot that has dead grass in it. I get that you're going for a desert vibe, but (especially with the swimming update) the Goblet is clearly well irrigated. Having lush, green lawns would only serve to enhance the oasis feel of the Goblet, and make it feel more like the jewel of the desert it's supposed to be.

    2) Unlock ward-specific exteriors
As many others have pointed out, the idea of the different housing wards each having their own sense of style went out the window the moment things like Carbuncle, Moogle and Shirogane exteriors were added. People who like the aesthetics of the houses in Lavender Beds might be more likely to move into open Goblet plots if they knew they could build their Glade houses there.

There's a lot more that could be done to improve the Goblet, but these fixes would be so quick and easy to implement that there's basically no reason not to.

You're not wrong, but you're also not being helpful. I think you know that though. :P

I think it would be nice to be able to have the appearances of other housing types in different housing areas. I love my house in the LB, but maybe it could look better with one of the Oasis or Riviera themed house exteriors. At this point, there isn't really any harm to lifting the restriction. If you have a down side in mind, I'm all ears. Only one I can really think of is just that it is a bit of a waste of time. The devs have a dozen other things to worry about.

I agree with both suggestions you have made.
As someone living in the goblet, I would like to see even a total revamp.

    1) Give it unique resources like Mist and LB:
It has succulents and cacti but there are reused ponds from LB there that really doesn't fit into it.

    2) Make it less empty:
There are so many empty spaces that could benefit from a little more decoration.
The paths leading off to the locked off mountain area... has nothing in it.
The spaced out shop area.. not too decorated.
For being Ul'dah, it seems very bland and almost poor in a sense, nothing rich about it.

Optional and my opinion, expanding onto your grass suggestion:
    3) Rework it into an Oasis (Revamp it)
Make it lusher, add palm trees and replace the LB ponds with something unique to the district.
Maybe tiled pools like the new water area. (Which I feel looks out of place compared to the rest of the district)
Heck, add brightly coloured flowers and bushes.
Add more and nicer decorations and move the shops closer together. (In LB and mist you don't have to run down stairs or jump from them)

Tldr; Goblet feels half as done as the other housing districts, please add unique plants and decoration to it with a lusher, oasis type look.
Get rid of the empty feeling.

I absolutely love the Goblet and think it has so much potential. Unfortunately, even after the pool update it still feels so lifeless and does not sit on par with the other Housing Areas. Being Overcast ALL the time doesn't help. The canyon view is jaw dropping, but you can't see it half the time which really takes away from the look and feel. I get it, it's a dessert, if it's windy the air will be thick and hazy... but if you've ever been to Arizona, There are clear skies more often than not. That aside, I personally think that each housing zone needs some love. I think their should be different yard types (i.e. long grass, short grass, leaves, flowers, sand, pebbles etc...) that can be attached to the house like the roof or windows so it doesn't take up yard slot space. I feel like the Goblet should have more of an oasis type feel. The concept they have is good, it just needs to be expanded. It feels so bland in certain areas. More Plants, more water, more decoration.

My FC, which Hubby owns has the small plot 50 in the Gob with pools right in front, a waterfall on one side and nothing on the other. Perfect.

I like the Goblet, I live there, I'd like it even more if it more closely resembled the concept though.

They can just fill the canyon with water, that will make people happier I suspect.

It honestly needs a lot more than that.
